Yeah no offense but I wouldn't call any of the journalist's at DT experts in players abilities. Its getting to be really irritating how much stuff is put out from these guys now like they really know what their talking about. 247 is a SEC biased place

All due respect to MaiTai, I agree with Skopil on the postion groups at this stage after spring practices. And his take on KT was just reinforced by the NY Giants taking him at #5. 247 nationally may be SEC biased, but Eric Skopil is a local kid from a long time Eugene family, is pretty respected overall and I enjoy reading his stuff.

  2. Looking at the Pac12 network game film and the edited clips, Rossi (RFr) got beat but so did Bass and Jones, established OL players. I think DJ blew up Ferguson once as well. Lanning noted that DJ could be one of the premier edge players in the country for a reason.

It looks like a couple of those highlight plays were against walk-on freshmen OL.

  3. Sorry to see him go as, although he wasn't the most dependable shooter, I thought he would play a significant role this year. Altman has a another big rebuild ahead. Hopefully we get another PG/SG to step up or come in via the portal.

Harmon, who just completed his third-year sophomore season, averaged 10.8 points, 2.6...

  4. Thompson certainly looks the part of the D1 P5 QB and has a cannon for an arm. As much as he has a ton of raw talent he seems to have a tough time reading coverages and then getting an accurate throw to the checkdown receivers. Butterfield is like the old Avis ads, he knows he's perceived as #2 so he tries harder. Both those guys are competitive and it seems they will stay till the fall to battle it out. If I had to predict:

Nix is the clear #1 leaving the spring game. Butterfield will be the #2. Thompson will transfer at some point. Oregon will work to add a good 2023 QB like Jaden Rashada.

  5. I agree with just about everything noted here. Seven (DAT clone), DJ (KT2) and Chase (the second Mailman cometh) were my standout players short of Noah and Taki's expected dominant play. Hard to watch both Nix and Thompson commit the cardinal sin of throwing behind crossing route receivers with the grim and anticipated outcome of a pick.

Much to like, though and I'm sure the coaching staff will have plenty to work on. I think it is a smart idea to not have the spring game be the last practice before the break as I bet there will he be a lot of breakdown of the game film and teaching this week.

  6. Now we know what happened to Letterman's Late Show writing staff. Keep 'em coming, Axel.

I know there’s supposed to be 12, but sheesh! Give me a break. It’s Saturday. Besides, I haven’t had my morning mimosas yet.

  7. They grow and make some good wine close to Pullman. Since the official activity in eastern Washington from September to April is drinking (May to August as well), not much of it escapes that area though.

Is there any benefit to living in the Palouse, a place more suited to the Twilight Zone than planet Earth? Well, sort of. Washington State University has established a reputation for being a rollicking party school, which is another way of saying that the student population joins the local yokels in getting mindlessly drunk every weekend.

  8. Be there on Saturday, baby. A short stroll across the parking lot from Autzen to PK after the Spring Game. My brother is coming up from the Lassen area (he was a walk-on pitcher for San Diego State back in the 70's when we was young) joining my son and me behind the visitors on deck circle along the 3rd base side with cold microbrews in our hands and fire in our hearts. Yhere are tickets left for the game from what I gather. C'mon out, man!

  9. As much as I would love to see PP get more minutes and even start for a team, the Celtics have a winning formula right now with Payton off the bench for clutch minutes. He seems to have embraced that role for now. I would love to see him get a ring for his efforts.

  10. At least as far as civil lawsuits go, and unless you are pretty damn positive you are in the right, a bad settlement is nearly always better than a bad jury award. To those of us not in the legal profession the finality of a settlement, even a painful one, is usually preferable to the uncertainty, expense and angst of a lost jury trial and subsequent appeal and possible crapshoot retrial.

I suspect that the UO will settle their part of it unless joint settlement of all defendents is required. Greatwood and the outgoing Helfrich staff was dissed by the incoming regime so no surprise there is no love lost. So far this is a bad look for all involved on the defense side and gives us yet another reason to say good riddance to Taggart and the malignant trail he left in his wake. The one ray of sunshine is the bad Karma that caught up to him at FSU.

  11. Important to distinguish the types of pancreatic cancer.  Most common by far is adenocarcinoma and that is a pretty dismal disease that tends to strike older people. Even caught early and aggressively treated with surgery, survival rates aren't very good. Redd had a neuroendocrine tumor that is less common and hits a younger age group. At 2.5cm and if the cancerous part was limited to the center of the mass, his odds of cure are very high in spite of the involved surgery he would have had to remove it. All the best for him as he was a huge fan favorite and a really gutsy kid for the Ducks.
