  1. 9th inning;

    After two outs Josiah Cromwick gets hit on his fingers to put him on first base. We hope nothing serious with respect to injury!

    0 Runs, 0 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB

    Will Coach Wasikowski stick with Logan Mercado to face Washington in the bottom of the ninth? Nope, Waz brings in his closer Kolby Somers.

    Flyout to right field. Strikeout. Walk. Groundout to short.

    0 Runs, 0 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB

    DUCKS WIN AGAIN!

  2. 8th inning;

    Anthony Hall gets us started with a leadoff triple into the right field corner. Sam Novitske hit an "excuse me" single to center field to score Hall. Josiah Cromwick gets a single through the right side of the infield. Runners at second and first with no outs. Gavin Grant places a bunt between the pitcher and third base which the pitcher throws wild to first base scoring Novitske. Colby Shade hit a single to right field scoring Cromwick. Shade steals second base to put two runners in scoring position. Brennan Milone comes through with a single that scores Gavin Grant and Colby Shade, and just like that Oregon has taken an 8-6 lead.

  3. 7th inning;

    Tanner Smith gets to first base when he is hit by a pitch. Hmmmm, why wasn't the Washington pitcher ejected?

    Colby Shade can't duplicate his fifth inning heroics with a long flyout to right center field. Huskies bring in their "closing" pitcher to face Brennan Milone and he draws a walk to put Ducks at second and first with one out. Jacob Walsh with a swinging strike for out number two. Josh Kasevich flies out to center to end the top of the seventh.

    0 Runs, 0 Hits, 0 Errors, 2 LOB

    Mercado sets the Huskies down in order with three groundouts.

    Two innings for our Ducks to get back in this!

  4. 6th inning;

    After Josiah Cromwick strikes a pinch hit double down the right field line a line drive by Gavin Grant to third base gets Cromwick doubled out a second base. The third baseman for Washington has made some stellar fielding and throwing plays today.

    0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 0 LOB

    An out and two singles puts runners at the corners. A pitchout strands the runner between third and home where things went awry. A bad throw to third, and a throw to home plate hit the runner allowing the run to score.

    1 Run, 2 Hits, 1 Errors, 1 LOB.

    2 Runs, 3 Hits, 0 Errors, 2 LOB

    Ayon gets ejected after he plunks the leadoff Husky hitter in the back. Strange call by the home plate umpire. Logan Mercado will pitch for Oregon with a runner on first and no outs. Logan gets out of the inning thanks in part to Jack Scanlon throwing out the runner trying to steal second base.

    Ducks 3 - Dawgs 5

  6. 4th inning;

    0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 1 LOB

    Ayon loaded the bases with a two out walk to the #9 Washington batter.  Another walk on four straight pitches scores the Huskies third run. A single to left field brings in two more runners. Ayon gets out of the inning with a strikeout, but the damage has been done.

    Ducks 1 - Dawgs 5 at the end of the fourth inning.

  7. 3rd inning;

    Jack Scanlon on base with a leadoff walk. Husky announcers bitching about how close the on deck batter is to home plate. Umpire isn't buying it. Scanlon moves to second on a wild pitch. Tanner Smith draws a walk on four straight pitches. Connor Shade hit a ball to deep center that is caught at the warning track, but moves Scanlon to third base. Brennan Milone legs out a single to third base and Jack Scanlon scampers home with the first score for Oregon.

    1 Run, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 2 LOB

    Ayon gives up a one out, two run single to left field which was mishandled by Tanner Smith.

    A two out double into the right field corner yields the same result as Oregon had in the top half of the inning.

    0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 1 LOB.

    Colby Shade works the pitch count to full and draws a walk. Ducks at second and first with one out.

    Brennan Milone draws two called balls, and Washington opts for a new pitcher. Milone is the second out on a swinging strike.

    A double steal puts two runners in scoring position for the Ducks. Jacob Walsh drives in Grant and Shade with a single back up the middle.

    Walsh steals second base to put another runner in position to score, but Josh Kasevich ends the top half of the inning looking at a called third strike.

    The double steal was a brilliant call by Coach Wasikowski!

    Ducks get 2 Runs on 1 Hit with no 0 Errors and 1 left on base to lead 7 to 3.

    Kolby Somers continues to pitch for Oregon. A none out single starts the Huskies in the bottom half of the ninth inning. The second batter pokes a single to left field. Kolby gets out number one on a called strike. A single to right field loads the bases for Washington. Ducks muff a pop up to short center to score a run for the Huskies, but alertly force the runner at second base for the second out. A single past Jacob Walsh at first base brings another run home. The game ends on a strike out.

    2 Runs, 4 Hits, 0 Errors, 2 LOB

    DUCKS WIN! 7 to 5 and take game 1 of the three game series.

    Unfortunately Colby Shade, Brennan Milone, and Jacob Walsh all strike out to end Oregon's top half of the 7th inning.

    Ducks with 0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 1 LOB.
