  1. No. There's a high NIL $$$ with a lot of Bama players. The Ducks will be content to get solid players that fit their schemes...and the Ducks have a culture with the OL. OL are the most difficult positions to plug xfers in. If you don't believe it, dive into UCLA. Or Colorado.

Ducks have added some OL for insurance. They have not significantly played. We are doing just fine on OL.

  2. No. Alabama is still at the top of the pile. The fact that our coach said "No" and turned it into something else only has a bearing on Oregon. We're a destination job. But there are may coaches and programs that would latch on to Bama. It's still a recruiting hotbed, and a savvy coach would be remiss not to take the baton.

    Just not Dan Lanning.

Sorry. I just don't buy the victim argument. We're half way through this season. I don't see any progression from the first game he played until now.

Do you have facts regarding how he has been coached?

I'm afraid the I have more respect for Charles Fisher and this site than to get into a debate with you on this issue. I will not argue this point; if you do not agree with my view then you don't.

  4. TT and Butterfield have been victims of the previous three coaches' inability to develop QBs. Dillingham's approach has been a blessing in that he had to have known that TT was not taught much of anything, so I presume he's being coached in practice and then being given game time to get some experience. Yes, TT looks rough and unspectacular, but one of Mario's greatest faults was - and is - an inability to coach and use QBs.

TT is being given the time to learn. I don't expect that Butterfield is in a better spot. It's not an "it" factor. TT just has not been coached until this year. I'm grateful that we have Dillingham on board - a QB coach that can actually teach QB play. TT will come around, but more importantly Dante Moore has a lot to look forward to. It's one thing to be a 5* and another to be coached and taught how to be a QB.

  5. I don't think this is going to be a thing. More important will be if our line can pressure Hall and still fill gaps and stop the run, and how well our secondary stops the pass. Sure, the linebacker corps needs to handle check-down receivers, but they have to know that was the case. I'm very interested in how our three defensive layers handle the BYU passing attack.

Fresno St beats USC. MSU beats fuskies. Cal covers and possibly beats ND. Book it!

Bold predictions, and I like truly bold predictions, rather than the humus on stale chips that others serve up as "bold" predictions. FS is not necessarily the ledge that I would be dangling from, but that's what makes it an admirably bold prediction.

  7. The article was objective and not subjective. Nothing was said that I would disagree with. I think we're going to have a great season opener...and there's no pressure on Oregon. No one expects anything from Oregon. That's a great place to be. Georgia has all the pressure. If they screw up, if they keep the Ducks in the game, if they lose - it's all on them. Imagine having the freedom to just play a high-profile game with absolutely no pressure. That's where Oregon is at. The team is in an ideal spot, and even if Oregon loses, they don't lose, right? Well, if they can't cover the spread then there are potentially issues, but does anyone here seriously think that will be the case?

  8. The Husky fans conveniently fail to understand that sophomore, junior, and senior high school recruits have not been exposed to the "glory" years of Washington football, because nothing of the sort has happened in their lifetimes. IN THEIR LIFETIMES. Washington doesn't ring as soundly because they have not been very good. On the other hand, Oregon has played well, gets national recognition, and clicks with recruits nationally - and that includes the state of Washington.

Any advise on where we need to go and what we need to do while there? We're up for anything but we love hiking and going to the local restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions.

Be sure to visit the Cascades Raptor Center. It's one of Eugene's biggest open secrets.

He had valid reasoning for voting against playoff expansion. Kliavkoff was put in a no-win situation of Larry Scott's doing.

  11. You know that Rob Mullen is on the phone with both. He has to be. Because the moves are about money, he's selling the Oregon brand to the highest bidder. Mullen is very good at his job. Regardless of whether Oregon goes to the SEC or the B1G, it will be to the highest bidder and rivalries, sentiments, and geography will not factor into the decision.

Canzano has a bad habit of building a whole column around a compelling idea that he doesn't then dive deeper into --- in this case the notion that people aren't snickering at the conference anymore. OK, John, but why? ...

If it's against the Ducks, then you're spot on. However, JC has been unrelenting in his criticism of Larry Scott - all deserved. I used to be a Clownzano parroter, meaning hating the man and his crap, and since the whole Pac-12 mess...which I think JC shined a huge magnifying glass on...I'll call Canzano by his last name. For now.

  13. Having been a pilot for many years, the story makes a lot of sense. The myriad factors involved in landing were reduced to utmost simplicity. The passenger was at a high altitude and in doing a slow descent on an 11,000 foot runway, things like establishing downwind and base, using flaps and rudder during landing, controlling airspeed - that was all eliminated. Kudos to the FI for creating a basic situation that would have a high degree of success for any non-pilot.
