Ducks land in top-5 for WR Gatlin Bair, No. 1 rated player in Idaho The Oregon Ducks landed the top-ranked player from Idaho during the 2023 class with ATH Kenyon Sadiq, one of the 100 best players in the nation. It appears that they are going back to the well, and recent news shows that they are in a good spot to get Idaho’s best once again in the 2024 class. On Sunday night, 4-star WR Gatlin Bair revealed his top five schools, keeping the Ducks in the mix along with a handful of others. Bair is rated as the No. 1 played in Idaho, as well as the No. 40 overall player in the nation, and the No. 9 WR in the 2024 class. Bair took a visit to Eugene earlier this year, and will likely find his way out to Oregon again this summer before making his ultimate decision. Transfer Portal Interests for Ducks
NJDuck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Early transfer portal options for the Ducks to consider at TE position At this point in the offseason, we can feel confident that the Oregon Ducks are going to add a player or two at the tight end position via the transfer portal. Going into spring ball, the Ducks had just three scholarship players in the TE room, and the top player on the depth chart — Terrance Ferguson — was just declared out for the rest of the spring season with an injury. So what started as a position of need has now turned into a near-emergency situation for Dan Lanning and his staff. On Saturday when talking to TE coach Drew Mehringer, he all-but confirmed that the team would look to the transfer portal to find a player or two that can contribute at the position. “Obviously, we’re going to have to figure something out with that,” Mehringer said. “I’ve been talking with Lanning and Will [Stein] and have a really good plan going forward for that, but we’d like to get somebody else in who can help us, if you know what I mean.” As more tight ends become available in the portal, we will keep an eye out and add them to the list. Here are some names to know at the moment. Oregon Football: Tight ends in transfer portal for Ducks to consider DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Ducks need to add at least one TE via the transfer portal. There aren’t a ton of great options available, but here are some guys Oregon could look at. -

Ducks extend offer to Wyoming transfer OL Emmanuel Pregnon The offensive line is not a major position of need for the Oregon Ducks this off-season. After four starters from the 2022 season graduated, Dan Lanning and the team brought in both Ajani Cornelius and Junior Angilau from the transfer portal, and they boast an incredibly talented group of players at that position. However, that did not stop the team from offering a scholarship to former Wyoming Cowboys OL Emmanuel Pregnon, who recently entered the transfer portal. Oregon Recruiting: Ducks offer Wyoming transfer OL Emmanuel Pregnon DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Ducks are one of over a dozen teams to extend an offer to former Wyoming OL Emmanuel Pregnon, who entered the portal on Saturday. -
Camden Lewis mentoring younger kickers, hopes to one day become kicking coach Following Saturday's scrimmage, Dan Lanning praised the consistency with which Camden Lewis has split the uprights this spring. Through eight spring workouts, the fifth-year senior has done what those around the program have grown accustomed — make kicks. "Camden has been really consistent and done a good job," Lanning said. This will act as the fifth and final season of Lewis' roller coaster collegiate career. After two challenging seasons in 2019 and 2020, Lewis has connected on 27-of-32 field goal tries the past two seasons, earning All-Pac-12 recognition each season. This final chapter provides Lewis the opportunity to not only solidify his place among the school's best place kickers — he is 15 kicks shy of breaking the school record for most made field goals in a career — but to also lift up the specialists around him. The fifth-year veteran is the unquestioned elder statesman of the specialists. True freshmen Grant Meadors and Luke Donne are among the names to know this year along with sophomore Ross James and junior Andrew Boyle. Drew Mehringer indicates Ducks will look to add tight ends from the portal Based upon comments from head coach Dan Lanning and tight ends coach Drew Mehringer, the Ducks will also be buyers during portal season. "I've been talking with Lanning and Will [Stein] and have a really good plan going forward for that," Mehringer said of the tight end room, which is down to just two available scholarship players for the remainder of spring. "But we'd like to get somebody else in who can help us, if you know what I mean." The comments were made moments after Lanning announced top returning tight end Terrance Ferguson would miss the final seven spring practices due to an unspecified injury. "The good thing for us is we have a lot of guys on our roster who have played tight end as well at times. They might not be listed at tight end on our roster but that doesn't mean that they can't play tight end. So we have some position versatility with the guys we have on our team," Lanning said of the short-term tight end plans. "We're always, always, always, going to look for opportunities to enhance our program if the right people present themselves." Drew Mehringer indicates Ducks will look to add tight ends from the portal 247SPORTS.COM Oregon tight ends coach Drew Mehringer made it clear that the Ducks will continue to look to add tight ends during the spring portal window. -
Drew Mehringer talks Terrance Ferguson, Kenyon Sadiq, and Oregon's talented TE room As spring practice continues on in Eugene, we’ve had the opportunity to talk to more coaches on the roster outside of head coach Dan Lanning. On Saturday, it was time to talk to tight ends coach Drew Mehringer, who was made available for the first time since last fall. There was a lot to talk about, including what took place in the scrimmage that the Ducks went through on Saturday morning in Autzen Stadium. Oregon Football: Drew Mehringer talks Terrance Ferguson, Ducks TE room DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Following Saturday’s scrimmage, Drew Mehringer talked TE depth, and a lot about the upside of freshman Kenyon Sadiq.

Ducks now projected to land pair of top-100 players, rising QB in 2024 class If you hadn’t been paying attention over the past couple of weeks, it’s now become incredibly clear that the Oregon Ducks are among the nation’s hottest teams in the recruiting world right now. The last seven days saw them pick up commitments from 4-star CB Aaron Flowers and 4-star DL Tionne Gray, as well as an in-state commitment from 3-star OL Trent Ferguson, moving them to well inside the top 10 rankings nationally. On top of that, a flurry of recruiting predictions has started to come in over the past couple of days, predicting that more high-end 4-star talent is on the way. On Thursday, 247Sports Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction that Oregon would be the landing spot for 4-star WR Dillon Gresham. On Friday, Wiltfong and fellow 247Sports colleague Greg Biggins logged multiple predictions for the Ducks. Here’s more info on the players that Oregon is projected to land, and where that would leave them in the national rankings should it all come to fruition. Five Players Not Named Caleb Williams Who Could Win 2023 Heisman Trophy USC's Caleb Williams is already the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. His arm strength and accuracy is unparalleled while his ability to escape the pocket and extend plays on his legs makes opponents look like elementary school students scrambling in a game of tag. He took home the 2022 Heisman Trophy and is the favorite to do it again, which would make him just the second player to ever win it twice, joining Ohio State's Archie Griffin (1974 and 1975). He's that good. But his talent doesn't discount that of the rest of the FBS. Williams' route to the Heisman will prove slightly more difficult than last year, having to play against top-tier conference quarterback talent like Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix. While the Heisman Trophy has evolved into a quarterback's award, there are other players who are in good standing to make their winning case this season. Here are five players who could win the Heisman in 2023 and keep Williams from repeating. 2. Bo Nix, QB, Oregon The Oregon quarterback is returning for his fifth year and will no doubt have the Ducks' offense humming. Nix threw for 3,594 yards and 29 touchdowns, adding 510 yards and 14 more scores on the ground, in his first season with Oregon. His decision making and progression reads are almost as impressive as his completion percentage (71.9), which ranked second in the FBS last season and tied the Pac-12 record for quarterbacks with more than 150 passing attempts. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/heisman-trophy-2023-contenders-college-football#gid=ci02bc9cd31000253f&pid=1-drake-maye-qb-north-carolina

On3 Expert Logs Oregon Prediction for Four-Star ATH Last weekend Oregon hosted one of the top athletes in the country for a multi-day visit. Calabasas (Calif.) two-way star Aaron Butler is the nation’s No. 86 overall player and No. 4 ranked athlete in the country. The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder can play on both sides of the ball but prefers playing offense at wide receiver. Alabama, Georgia, Arizona and Colorado are four programs also in the mix for the versatile play-maker. However on Thursday morning, On3’s director of recruiting Chad Simmons, logged a prediction. Simmons talked about his decision to log a prediction for Oregon on ScoopDuck. “I’m told by a source that he had a “very good” visit to Eugene and that the Ducks will receive an OV.” Simmons had a prediction for Georgia previously before moving to Oregon. His confidence remains a bit low however, at 50% confidence currently. There are still two other predictions in favor of Georgia currently. But Simmons notes his official visit to Georgia this weekend is off the table for now. He’s set to take an official visit to Colorado the weekend of April 22. Could Oregon be in line for the speedster? Butler is currently talking about a July decision and right now the momentum seems to be in favor of Oregon. PAC-10 New Media Deal - Damn the Doubters and Take Heart

Since there was a lot of conversation about the CW, thought I put this out there. "It looks like one reported suitor for Pac-12 rights may not be all that interested. Last week, Stewart Mandel and Max Olson of The Athletic reported that “there have been recent discussions between the Pac-12 and The CW,” raising the possibility of the conference joining LIV Golf in sports events on that network. But John Ourand of Sports Business Journal wrote in his newsletter Monday that while there were indeed Pac-12 talks with The CW, they’re not expected to lead to anything:" There's now reportedly 'little chance' The CW gets Pac-12 rights AWFULANNOUNCING.COM As per John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, Pac-12 talks with The CW "never got serious," and the network is not likely to land rights. -
Report: Ducks expecting visit from Arizona State's Devan Cambridge Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks appear to be making a strong push in the transfer portal as of late. Last weekend, the Ducks reportedly hosted Dalton Knecht, one of the top players available on an official visit, and they will be doing the same with Arizona State guard Devan Cambridge this coming weekend, per a report from Jon Rothstein. Altman has lost a handful of players to the portal so far this season, including Kel’el Ware, Tyrone Williams, Rivaldo Soares, and Lök Wur. While they added Jadrian Tracey to the mix, it’s easy to believe that more incoming transfer will come over the next several weeks for Oregon.
