Every time the Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea four-star running back is in Los Angeles, he makes his way over to USC and has an excellent trip. So the Trojans are definitely a major contender in his recruitment. But Oregon still feels like the team to beat since he’s so comfortable there, has a great relationship with the staff and is very familiar with the place.
Considering Washington’s success this past season and Jason Brown knowing a bunch of players there as well, the Huskies should be considered high in this race as well.

John Canzano is echoing the same as Jon Wilner (posted on the forum). Pac-12 should not wait.
It would be out of character and off brand for the Pac-12 to seize on the momentum of the Aztecs NCAA Tournament run and extend an immediate invitation to join the conference this week.
The Pac-12 presidents and chancellors are mindful of optics. They respect tradition and observe etiquette. The old-guard leadership wouldn’t be caught dead trying to draft off San Diego State’s basketball success.
That said, they should totally do it.
This is no time for the “new” Pac-12 to act like the “old” Pac-12. The conference shouldn’t wait another week (or month). It should just invite San Diego State now and end the charade.
The Aztecs are a no-brainer for the Pac-12. San Diego State has the academics, culture and Pacific Time Zone geography. It would also add 1.1 million television households in a region where the Pac-12 badly needs it.

4-star QB Air Noland puts Oregon Ducks among top schools
When it comes to the quarterback position, the Oregon Ducks are still actively working to get their guy in the 2024 class. There is some positive momentum on that front, though, with 4-star QB Air Noland announcing his top schools on Saturday and keeping Dan Lanning’s squad in the mix.
Noland is rated by 247Sports as the No. 55 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 7 quarterback. He has yet to take a visit to Eugene, but that will likely change in the coming months.
Outside of Noland, the Ducks are also expecting a visit from 5-star QB Dylan Raiola for the annual spring game, and they also have some positive momentum when it comes to the recruitment of 4-star QB Michael Van Buren and 3-star QB Luke Moga.

One School Leads for Elite CB Miles Lockhart Entering Spring
Miles Lockhart is one of the defensive backs out West and has been on Oregon's radar for a long time.Including Oregon, Lockhart said he's hearing the most from a trio of schools.

He has a few schools in mind for visits this spring, with one being a recent offer in January.
"I have Ohio State locked in for April 10 for spring practice and I'm trying to make it up to Oregon actually or maybe their spring game or just a practice," Lockhart said. "Just trying to figure out those dates. I may also go up to Wisconsin as well, go check out a practice and get a little visit in."

The latest player to keep the Ducks in the mix is 4-star OT Andrew Sprague, a 6-foot-8, 275-pound player from Kansas City, Missouri. Sprague is rated by 247Sports as the No. 133 overall player in the 2024 class, and No. 12 OT in the nation.
Sprague has yet to take a visit to Eugene, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make his way out to the west coast in the coming months to check out the Ducks.

4-star OT Max Anderson puts Ducks among top schools
The Oregon Ducks continue to pick up steam when it comes to recruiting on the offensive line front. While the Ducks picked up a prediction to land 4-star OT Bennett Warren earlier in the week, they now just landed in the top 8 schools for 4-star OT Max Anderson as well.
Anderson is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 199 player in the 2024 class, and the No. 13 offensive tackle. He also listed schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia among his final schools.
Currently, there is a prediction from 247Sports for him to end up committing to the Michigan Wolverines.
We will see over the coming months if he ends up taking a trip out to Eugene to check out the Ducks.

While we get settled in the middle of the spring football season for the Oregon Ducks, recruiting is starting to pick up across the nation. Already we have seen a number of high-profile visits to Eugene over the past couple of weeks, and more will continue to take place as Dan Lanning and his crew ramp up for the annual spring game on April 29.
Another thing that recently took place in the recruiting world is a rankings update across the board. Both 247Sports and On3 recently went through and updated where the top prospects in the 2024 class stand both in the Top247 and the On300.

One of the main reasons Terry was brought to Eugene in order to take over for Adrian Klemm, who left for a job in the NFL with the New England Patriots, was to keep the high level of recruiting up on the offensive line. So far, it appears that’s working.
After a big visitor weekend in Eugene, the Ducks have picked up a prediction to land 4-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren, a 6-foot-7, 315 pound player from Texas.

When the Big 12 added BYU, it may have made all the difference in the muddled world of college football media negotiations we have been witnessing with the Pac-12 the past nine months.
The Pac-12 is losing UCLA and USC and considering expanding to help in negotiations with Apple, Amazon and other potential media partners. The 10 remaining teams have vowed solidarity. Last week presidents at Utah, Arizona and Arizona State made positive public declarations of hope that all will be just fine and negotiations will conclude very soon.
The Pac-12 presidents passed on adding BYU eons ago and repeated that in 2010 when Texas and Oklahoma turned down invitations that ultimately went to Utah and Colorado.
It became very clear in the past two decades that the Pac-12 did not want to include a religious institution like BYU, declaring “cultural fit” and “research institution” qualifications in its exclusivity decisions.
But from a purely athletic and football brand perspective, many experts are now declaring that was a shortsighted move by the “Conference of Champions.” One that is costing them now.
Interesting take if we had added BYU. As we all know, It's the would-of, could-of, should-of syndrome of the Pac-12's shortsightedness, one of many.
The Pac-12, at this point, is trying to find a way to get the best deal possible. Hopefully with a short contract. If it seems best to add SDSU and SMU (religious institution) to the Pac-12, in 5 years time could boost the conference in their growth. SMU is financially very well endowed.
Next contract down the road could find more realignment with Oregon and Washington going to the BIG, or Pac-12 conference grows stronger. Either way we need to get through the next 5 years.

The Pac-12 has been in ongoing media rights negotiations since last summer, and time is starting to run out for the conference to get something done.
Pac-12 schools currently receive $21 million annually from their deal with Fox and ESPN, which expires on July 1, 2024. That means, the conference is just over a year out from having no representation for its televised events, which sounds like a long time, but in the media rights world, the clock is nearing 11:00 p.m.
There have long been reports that the Pac-12 was set to have a substantial meeting on Tuesday, March 21, but that meeting was rescheduled to Wednesday, March 22 for undisclosed reasons. Perhaps a deal is close for the conference and George Kliavkoff needed a few more hours to finalize the terms? Or maybe, and perhaps more likely, there’s just not much on the table right now that is going to excite Pac-12 school presidents and CEOs.
In a recent episode of The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast, Andrew Marchand spoke about the situation that the Pac-12 finds itself in with monumental meetings coming in the next few weeks.

Phillipina Kyei's improving shot-blocking prowess, and more Oregon WNIT storylines
Phillipina Kyei admits she was confused by how Rice's players chose to attack her with such consistency and fervor in Monday's WNIT second round game.
The 6-foot-8 center swatted away two Owl shots in the first quarter and yet they kept on coming, allowing for her to block two a quarter for the game's duration to finish with a career-high eight blocked shots — the 10th most in program-history.
"It started as one block and then the energy kept going from there. They kept driving so I didn't really know what to do," Kyei said with a nervous laugh after the 78-53 win.
Swatting a shot in front of a home crowd is the pinnacle for many bigs, and Kyei is no different. Sending a shot into the stands and the glow the crowd provides after is unparalleled, she said.
"It gets me going for sure," she said. "Coach always tells me to protect the paint. I think I did a good job of that. I'm willing to do more of that."

2024 Polynesian Bowl announces four-star WR Jordan Anderson
Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor junior wide out Jordan Anderson is the latest four-star prospect added to the 2024 Polynesian Bowl.
It’s a really strong year for wide receivers in the California ’24 class and Anderson is one of the very best, not just locally but nationally as well.
He’s a player we’ve been watching for a couple of years now and gets better and better every time we see him. In 12 games last season, he finished the year 47 catches for 984 yards (20.9 ave.) and 13 touchdowns.
He added 38 tackles while playing part time duty as a defensive back and has the skill set to play on either side of the ball in college but wide receiver is his meal ticket.
“I”m really excited about this opportunity, I’ve been wanting to play in the Poly Bowl for awhile now,” Anderson said. “I was actually going to go to the Poly Combine just to try and make it so to receive the invite now is a blessing.
On the recruiting front, Anderson has already locked in his commitment to Oregon and still feels very good about the Ducks.
“I still love Oregon, my commitment is very strong,” Anderson said. “I love everything about the program. I love the the team, the players, the coaches and the Oregon brand.
“I love the fan support and the football program in general and where it’s going. I’m planning to visit soon but don’t have a date locked in yet. The sooner the better though, I always love it there.”

The University of Oregon men’s basketball coach sounded miserable on Tuesday night in the wake of the Ducks season-ending NIT loss in Eugene. His team lost 61-58 to Wisconsin. Only 3,358 fans showed up to see it.
“I was mad at the world,” Altman said. “It was end of the season. We gave away the game at the free-throw line. We didn’t execute. I blew off some steam. I usually don’t do that. I did last night.”

Keeshawn Barthelemy says Oregon is his school for next year
Oregon junior point guard Keeshawn Barthelemy will meet with his family to discuss his playing opportunities now that his first season has ended with the Ducks. It'll be a chance to reset and look at the big picture of where his career is going, but he also stated he'll be back at Oregon next season.
Barthelemy is registered for spring classes at Oregon which start in two weeks and he won't be exploring an opportunity to play college basketball at a third school next season. He's locked in at Oregon.
