  1. I am not sure how much of the alliance with the Big Ten and ACC did for us.  I feel like it hurt us more than helped.  For instance, I think it kind of kept him from really pushing the school presidents and CEOs to bring the remaining Big 12 schools to join the PAC12.  A great missed opportunity on that one.  It would have given us clout for inking out a great media rights deal.

Other than that I think he is really trying to find ways to get this conference back on track.  I especially like the idea of him being on board to dump the NCAA.  Amazing how much money they've raked in from the colleges.

  2. From the article: "I remember seeing him in person at the Texas 7-on-7 state championships in the summer before his senior year and in that setting he was unstoppable. There's not really much you can do in shirts and t-shirts against a 6-foot-5 guy who is a good athlete. He was winning balls over smaller guys. He was running by some of them."

Brooks also noted Chapman's dual-sport athleticism. He was also a track athlete at Clear Brook high school."

You've got to love his size as a WR.  He stays healthy, could be quite a potential threat against opposing defenses.

You stated you are grateful, and I agree. Seems like there are stages we all go through in recovery from what we went through with the No O coach we had.

Anytime you go through such an emotional experience there are a set of emotional markers you encounter as you accept the future. The first one was confusion, then we had anger, followed by trying to make sense of it all. The last stages we are just beginning to feel.

The healthy sense of gratefulness is definitely one most if not all of us are experiencing. The final stage is the one I am anticipating with great impatience. The excitement of seeing our vision, and really our programs defining element come back.

An exciting, dynamic offense will be one of the greatest moments of this fall. We are all grateful, we are all now looking forward to the thrill, once again, of the O in Oregon coming back! That is emotional state I look forward to again being in Saturday after Saturday for the foreseeable future!

I agree!  With Lanning's defensive genius, both sides of the ball will be exciting to watch.

Andrew Boyles, Ross James, Adam Berry and now Alex Bales

Andrew Boyles is a big-leg kicker with accuracy.  Bales seems really good as well.  Looking forward to these additions on special teams and what they will bring to the table, helping Oregon win games.

  5. One of the things they stated in this article is:

"One scheduling change that appears extremely unlikely in the short-term is the Pac-12 playing eight conference games instead of nine because the the Big Ten is unwilling to reduce its league schedule."

I might not fully understand this statement, but why should the PAC12 based their decision to go to eight conference games due to BIG Ten's decision not to reduce league schedule from nine to eight?  We play eight conference games and PAC 12 championship makes 9 games.  SEC and I think ACC does it.   We would still play three out of conference games.

If....if he actually does it and the HC lets him.  After getting burned with Mari (I don't include it because he doesn't know what to do with the "O") I am more inclined to believe it when I see it.

I agree with you about MC saying what he was going to produce on the O side and never did.  I also agree with your article.  As the old saying goes "The proof is in the pudding"  But sure am hoping what they are saying becomes real on the grid iron.

BTW, I'd rather run fewer than 80 plays as the result of 'sudden strike' scores. I see '80 plays' as being far more euphemistic than literal.

I agree.  I believe Dillingham said pro-style offense that plays fast.  He wants where this offense aims to snap the ball over 80 times per game, but he said he wanted to enhance the amount of opportunities for its playmakers to do just that — make plays.  I think he was also saying they want to be efficient in their plays, getting as many explosives plays as possible, but not necessarily have to get 80 plays off per game to reach the goal of the amount scores they need.

He said.."We want to get people touches. We want to be explosive," he explained. "It’s a system built around our players to create the best matchups and we want to do that at a rapid pace. We want to snap the ball as many times as we can because we want to get those guys as many touches as possible." Versatility, potentially opening the door for a more varied scheme.

With this brand of offense with a DL defense, will be fun to watch!  Go Ducks!!
