The near future is poised to be a glorious era of Oregon sports. This is setting up to be magnificent run for fans. Football is king in the sports program topping all budgets, producing revenue, and making headlines in national media shining light on the University of Oregon and the state. The football team is stacked with talent from Coach Cristobal’s recruiting successes. Coach Lanning and his staff have hit the ground running with intense focus on taking the Ducks to the summit of college football. There are plenty of facts that line up to a conclusion there is a “fighter’s chance” that there is a CFB championship ahead for the Ducks. The 2022 season begins in Atlanta where the Ducks line up against the 2021 season national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Coach Lanning has requested the support of fans at the 2022 Spring Football Game. It is scheduled for April 23rd at 1:00 P.M. in Autzen stadium. Save the date and be there with your family and friends to signal a new era of Oregon Football fandom. The men’s and women’s basketball teams for Oregon have faltered a bit this year from expectations. Despite that, the teams are talent laden, fiercely competitive teams that can bring it at both ends of the court. The teams play with drama and suspense along with amazing athleticism. There is lots for fans to watch, enjoy, and yes - bemoan sometimes watching MBB and WBB teams. Both teams will be loaded for the 2022-2023 season. Track and Field is back in the storied Oregon Track program. The team is stacked ready to represent Oregon in the best-in-the-world Hayward Field facility that will host both NCAA and open world title events. Fans will see a new generation of Track and Field marvels in Eugene. Oregon’s Coach Johnson has recruited a highly ranked class of champions and future college and possible world champions. The women’s Softball team is off to an undefeated start in its new season. This year’s team is posed for a post-season run. The future is bright for women’s softball at Oregon. The men’s Baseball team is just opening its season. Oregon baseball has become more prominent on the national scene. It is reasonable that new stars will emerge and a trip to Omaha for the College World Series may soon be in the offing. The above-noted sports teams are the major sports. Oregon also fields wonderful athletes and competitive teams worth watching and following in Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, etc. Let’s get behind our Ducks (Ducks in a row) as fans, and do our parts to boost our players and teams.
