Oregon Baseball Falls to Utah for First Time Since 2017, Extends Losing Streak to 5

Oregon’s hopes of an NCAA Tournament at-large bid are approaching extinction.

Three relievers combined to allow seven runs and the Ducks committed four errors in a 12-5 loss to last-place Utah Thursday night at Smith’s Ballpark. It snapped a 12-game win streak for UO, which last lost to Utah on April 2, 2017.

It was the fifth straight loss and eighth in nine games for Oregon (31-20, 14-14 Pac-12), which entered the weekend No. 39 in RPI compared to Utah’s 144, making it one of UO’s worst losses of the season.

Injuries in total to four starting pitchers....injuries to two of the top three relievers, and now the league has figured out Mollerus and Mercado--such a shame.  We are not an NCAA team right now.

There will be much better days ahead, but not this year!

Mr. FishDuck

So unfortunate as they where looking really good thur the mid season, really thought this was the year for them to make a run.

Pitching was always the concern heading into the season and now with the injuries it's completely blown up, unfortunate that a really good offense is going to have no chance since the pitching can't even hold teams to under 10 runs now.
