Coaches always talk about paying attention to the details.

Well Dan and the Oregon staff apparently do so as well.   A poster on another board pointed shared that Sione Laulea is LDS and his faith is extremely important to him and his family.

Of the schools recruiting him (final 3- UO; USC & Miami) only ONE  of them took the time on his recruiting visit to take him to church.  Yes, Oregon arranged for him to check out the local church and attend a meeting there.   There is some speculation that this tipped the scales in Oregon's' favor.

I am not surprised that USC would ignore that, but I am very surprised that Mario would.  The one thing he is good at is recruiting, and perhaps there is not much of an LDS community there?  I cannot imagine that there is not one, since they are in every community.

Oregon has had a large LDS community in Eugene, and among the players.  A temple is down the way from my street, and I recall how important it was for Haloti Ngata when he came to Eugene.

And nice scoop Augduck, as I appreciate it when so many bring information here.
