Super-Regional: Two Ways to Beat Texas A&M

Recommended Posts

Number 1- Win the first game, this may seem obvious but they have one STUD pitcher, Prager. He has a 2.53 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 12 Ks per 9 innings and only gives up 1 homer per game.  If we can find a way to win the first game their number 2 & 3 starters are just barely average, 5.43 & 6.70 ERAs.

Number 2-If we lose the first game our 2 & 3 pitchers are better then theirs which increases our chances to win both games.  In the regionals they actually went "pitching by committee" in their 2nd & 3rd games.  They do have a very good bullpen, 3 guys who are really good.  So even if we do not win the first game we would still have a great chance of winning the series.

Now for hitting, they are really scary.  They have 3  players that hit over 20 homer (22, 27 & 28) and all 3 of them batted over .300!  Their team batting average was .299 which is really impressive since we all know they played in the best conference in the country! 🤪 Well they did get 5 teams into the super regionals.

Go Ducks!

To counter their incredible hitting--we must have the same kind of superb pitching we had last weekend.  It is the only way we can stay with them, IMHO.

I doubt we will be able to win any shootouts, we'll have to win some pitcher's duels.  We're not a bad hitting team, but we aren't exactly the most offensive.  Going to need to have well executed small ball and be better in clutch situations compared to A&M.
