On the day after the greatest centerfielder that ever played the game, Willie Mays, passed away at the age of 93, Oregon’s own centerfielder was recognized for having a little of Mays inside him.

Oregon centerfielder Bryce Boettcher was awarded with the collegiate Gold Glove for the 2024 season.

 

He might be better served (career-wise) to concentrate on baseball.  He's shown some flashes last season that support him becoming a very good linebacker (he'd have an opportunity to show it especially since guys like Bassa are leaving after next season) but he's already at a high level in baseball right now.  This kid is seriously talented.

Incredible!  He threw into home from center field, and stopped a potential winning run in a game recently with his big arm.

 

And he has prevented MANY Home Runs!

He has already stated that if he is selected high enough in the upcoming MLB Draft, then he will not return to the football field this fall in order to play-out his Baseball dream.
