30Duck No. 2 Share Posted October 6 A fine article, Jordan, though just as Gabriel's INT's should not be the fodder for the blatherer's, I don't think Chip can be faulted for leaving Westwood. UCLA football has been the model of mediocrity since Terry Donahue, who's initials are perfect for a football coach, was there.
Haywarduck Moderator No. 3 Share Posted October 6 As much as Chip says he just likes to coach, he likes to win. After Oregon he was stuck in mediocrity, and the buckeye move was an attempt to get back to winning again. Unfortunately for Chip he hasn't won while playing the Ducks since he left. I think that trend will continue as he comes back for his annual reminder he should have never left. As far as Gabriel, as Lanning says, so what, now what? What we are going to see now is DG continuing to figure out his receivers as the season progresses. My hope is that includes stretching the field with some Stein calls that he has held in his back pocket just for this game. One thing we saw this week is it is hard to win on the road. I think we will see that again with our Mighty Ducks. Alabama supported that observation while Miami shocked again with a win on the road, and a comeback, just wow. If the game is close Autzen will prove too much for the nuts. As much as I would love to see a shootout, I tend to think defense will win this game. Our defense is just now coming into its own. I see the turnover ratio deciding the game and our defense leading the way with creating mistakes. On the other side GB plays a clean game, with no mistakes this week! 1
