NJDuck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted October 30 We might not have had a top-five matchup or a major upset take place on Saturday, but it was another exciting week of college football. As we plunge toward November, we're starting to see things unfold. We're seeing the character of teams in the top 10. We're seeing some other teams make magical runs that they hope can end with a trip to the College Football Playoff. So, let's dig into my latest top 10! 1. Oregon (Last week: 1) Record: 8-0 Week 9 result: Defeated Illinois, 38-9 Oregon is getting better and better every single week. Shame on me for underestimating how difficult it was going to be to get the transfer quarterback to play great right away. When I spoke with Dan Lanning over the summer, he told me Bo Nix had some of the difficulties that Dillon Gabriel had after he transferred to Oregon. He said that Nix really wasn't effective until late in his first year and going into his second season in Eugene. So, you can understand why it might have been a little messy for Gabriel at the start of his tenure, despite his previous success. This team looks more balanced, and it can beat you in a lot of ways. The Ducks' defense is quick, their offense can run the football, Gabriel can throw the football down the field, and they have speed for days. Oregon has proven it's the best team in college football, and we might just be seeing the possibilities of what could be coming. 2024 college football rankings: Joel Klatt's top 10 teams after Week 9 WWW.FOXSPORTS.COM Ohio State didn't look overly impressive in its win against Nebraska, while Penn State picked up a gritty win at Wisconsin... 1
30Duck No. 2 Share Posted October 30 Joel Full of KLATT says he now understands why Oregon, Gabriel might not have been firing on all cylinders at the start of the season. But in the last two weeks he insisted that the trip to Purdue, mixed with the inevitable hangover from beating Ohio State, would be too much for Oregon to handle and it would be a close call. 35-0. Next week, Illinois, top 20, traditional B1G team coming into Autzen to take on Oregon, still without Burch, "21.5 is too much, it's just too much". 38-9. DanLduck No. 3 Share Posted October 30 What I don't get is the gushing over tOSU and Texas or even Alabama and Miami. These teams have all struggled against weaker opponents in recent weeks. Oregon, with a new qb and injury bothered O-line stumbled a bit in the FIRST 2 WEEKS of the season and it was held against us even after beating tOSU. Boy, bias is a tough thing to overcome I guess. Btw, anyone notice that most all the top teams are heavily invested in NIL. Just one man's observation.

Miami is off the relic heap, nary a mention that they're 3 Review call reversals from being 5-3, tOSU, laughably easy non-con schedule, L at Oregon. "If that game was at a neutral field!"
