Oregon Is No.1

Recommended Posts

There was no doubt about it, not even Joey Galloway, from Ohio State, had a problem with it.

Clearly having 64 teams instead 12 is a big difference. But, being No.1 in the basketball bracket is substantially superior to being a 5. In the football format, Oregon gets a bye, just like 2,3 & 4 do. While No.5 gets to host a home game against the No.12 team, while No.1's first game will be the winner of 8/9. There are definite advantages to being No.5.

A Shout Out From the AP!

APNEWS.COM

Undefeated Oregon got top billing in the first set of rankings on the road to college football's new, 12-team playoff.

No. 5 is the PO At-Large sweet spot although if Boise is the 12 seed the 1st round game will not be a piece of potato pie. Beat the 12 seed and it's likely on to the Fiesta Bowl for a game against the 4-seed B12 representative. I will not be surprised if both the three and four seeds lose in the 2nd round.

Utah is having a very bad year. But No.9 BYU, -3.5, travels to Salt Lake City for the Holy War game this Saturday and there is a reason for the skinny spread in this heated rivalry game. A BYU loss would give the Prime Time Buffs, blown out by Nebraska, a good shot at making the B12 title game and with two losses, having a 1st round bye. 😒

Blown out by Nebraska, 2 losses and a 1st round Bye just like the No.1 team gets. Something definitely off here.  Nebraska, Colorado & Oregon always messes things up.
