B1G Reveal - Week 11 - The Fab 4 Edition

Recommended Posts

Tuesday was a B1G Night for the B1G. But There is Still a Lot of Meat Left On the Bone for Puddles to Peck.

2 for 10 - The number of teams ranked No.1 in the first 4-team Playoff (PO) rankings to win a championship, but...

Don't be sad, 'cause 4 out of 8 ain't bad. No. 1 OREGON, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 6 Penn State, and No. 8 Indiana. WOW!

8 out of 16? Yes, the SEC had one-half of the conference in the PO Top 25 Tuesday night, but only three teams in the top 8, and this Saturday, No. 16 Ole Miss +2.5 vs No. 3 Georgia in Oxford and No. 11 Alabama -3 at No. 15 LSU in Baton Rouge could be eliminated with a third lose. LSU drew the night game which is 1 of the many things Lane Kiffin is PO'd about. 😒

No. 24 - ranked Missouri is Exhibit 'A' for, IMO, the PO Committee ranking no more than 15 teams plus automatic bid teams outside of the 15. And No. 22. 3-loss Louisville is not going to the PO unless it sneaks into the ACC title game and wins a rematch with No. 4 Miami.

No. 8 Indiana are the Fab 4 Beatles of Bloomington as the Hoosiers continue the B1G Beat-Down Tour.

10-47 - Indiana fell behind Sparty 10-0 last Saturday in E. Lansing and then scored 47 unanswered points. "I think we proved that we could come from behind." Coach Cig 😁

42 - years since Indiana -7.5 has been favored over Michigan. Michigan leads the series 58-10.

1887 - If Indiana defeats Michigan on Saturday in Bloomington it will be 10-0 for the first time in school history. And Indiana will have the next weekend off to prepare for playing Ohio State in Columbus.

1. We're Number 1 and Saturday will be the first time OREGON, -24.5, plays Maryland in football. Big Ten Network - 4 PM. No PO-ranked teams remain on OBD's regular season schedule. But the opponent in the Champ Game in Indianapolis (Knock Wood!) will be formidable.

3. The trip to Indy would be the Ducks third 2+ time zone trip in 6 weeks. Puddles will need an oil change.

3. B1G things we can count on - Death, Taxes, and Penn State losing to Ohio State. Jimmy Franklin is now 2-7 vs. Top 5 opponents and 1-10 versus Oh-My O-H-I-O State 😒

3-3. Penn State made three Red Zone trips on Saturday and scored 3 points. The only points PSU scored on O.

5:31 - From Buckeye Battle Cry - "Hit them hard and see how they fall, never let that team have the Ball. Hail, Hail, the gang's all here as we beat out old conference foe!"

The Buckeyes defense kept PSU out of the end zone on 4 scoring attempts from the 1-yard line. Then, a Lineman's Dream happened for a team that rushed for 64 yards the Saturday prior versus Nebraska.

The PSU O never touched the ball in the last 5 minutes and 31 seconds of the game. And this time, Will Howard's last play slide brought joy to Ohio State fans.

The Player of The Game - All-American Guard Donovan Jackson who moved from Guard to Left Tackle and more than held his own vs a solid PSU D line. A suspect O-line became solid with a savvy O-Line shuffle. Sound familiar?

5 - Week 11 games with a Playoff Punch -

Here are the top five games of the week, ranked in inverse order. All rankings are CFP rankings.

Please forgive the Right Coast time zone references. It is a B1G Conference.

After this season, no way does Miami lose the ACC title game.  Cig's line is Chip worthy.

Miami won a 1 score game at Louisville and Tyler Shough had better stats than Cam Ward. Louisville gets one more stop in Charlotte and ? SMU is another team that would challenge Miami.

Hell of a "Conference" In the regular season, Miami misses Clemson, Pitt, SMU and the Half-ACC'd Notre Dame. Did the PO Committee rank 3L Louisville to help out the Canes?

In 2024, the Miami defense is MIA.😁

Take A Knee Game this Saturday at Georgia Tech.😍  Tech QB Haynes King hopes to play. With King, Tech has a chance.

Week 11 It's the SEC Where Games Just Mean More This Weekend.

The thought was 9-3 for SEC teams may be good enough for playoff inclusion, but parity may be proving that incorrect

If our 'buddy' DeBoer 'leads' Bama to its 3rd loss vs 2 loss LSU the knives will be out in Tuscaloosa.

And Kiffen taking a 3rd loss will be mega disappointing for The Portal King and Ole Miss fans.

This Monday, the Paul Finebaum show should be rowdy.

Good thing everyone got rid of divisions, playoffs could have been really chaotic.

Ridiculous omission, but Michigan @ Indiana, Oregon @ Wisconsin, Penn State @ Minnesota, Washington @ Oregon and Michigan @ tOSU??? All those mentioned are right there with Finebaum's "Vandy could."
