What's The Status of Oregon's Offensive and Defensive Lines?

Recommended Posts

In search of some data on this topic.

How many starters are the Ducks losing on each line?

What player source (i.e., recruit or transfer portal) is expected to fill the holes?

Any exciting in-house recruits coming up on either line that we should be excited about?

Perhaps it is too soon to tell, but wonder if the OBD has any inside knowledge.

For context, I'm coming at this from the following perspective:

- Offensive lines thrive with continuity. As such, IMO, I'd like to see the OLine be mostly filled with in-house recruits than with transfer portal players (as a general rule; I realize there are always exceptions).

- The defensive line seems to require less continuity, and more havoc/chaos makers. Therefore, awesome players from either recruit or transfer portal sources fit nicely here.

Let me know your thoughts.

OL loses the following starters:  Conerly (NFL), Strother, Harper, and Cornelius. Projected OL for 2025 is:  World (transfer from NV), Bedford, Poncho, Iuli and Harkey (transfer from Tx State), though the Ducks recent pursuit of Pregnon (USC) may alter this projection.

DL loses the following starters:  Burch and Harmon.  Caldwell has a chance to return, but has not stated his intentions. Projected DL For 2025 is:  Matayo, Caldwell (if he returns), A'Mauri Washington or Bear Alexander (transfer from USC) and Tuioti.

All the tools are right here on this site.

Up at the top of the front page is "Repository" and you can click on the ChileDuck Depth Chart to see who is there as former starter and the depth behind him.

We have tons of articles with updates in the threads dedicated to recruiting and transfer portal signees and those we are pursuing. To find the thread in a flash...just click on "News" above and a page opens where you can scroll down and click on the link that takes you directly to the thread you want.

All this....provided by wonderful volunteers.  God Love Them.

Finally, the answer is....we don't know yet until the portal signings are done.  We will have much fewer portal transfers this year than last, with the gradual shift to HS recruits who have come up in the program as the recruiting classes are getting to maturity.

Charles, this response made my month.

I had the ChileDuck list bookmarked since the beginning of time and one day it was not there.  This sucked on a new level due to the fact that all other sources (Cough cough GODUCKS.com) were super glitchy and slow.  I assumed that Chile left New Mexico State (which was in the address), and decided to bag the page.

Now this comes along and BOOM, I’m back to cooking with heat.  I can’t properly express my gratitude.
