DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 1 Share Posted Wednesday at 02:52 AM So, I’ve been following this story since yesterday. According to a video Tweeted out by a Packers fan at the Eagles game, his fiancée was verbally abused by an Eagles fan (surprise, surprise). The language used was quite vile, so the Packers fan told the guy to knock it off, but the Eagles fan doubled down even while knowing he was being recorded. Long story short, the Packers fan didn’t want to get physical with the guy because he knew he would get jumped by him and his buddies. So, he put the video on Twitter at 2:00 AM Monday morning. By Monday afternoon the name and employer of the culprit went public. This morning the Eagles announced he was banned from any future games and this evening his employer announced that he had been terminated. This dude has been getting dragged on social media and as you can see, major news outlets have picked up the story. I’m quite sure that he had no idea his life would be turned upside down within 48 hours of making his comments. Hopefully, this gets around and some of the rather “uncouth” sports fans (Duck fans included) get an idea of the ramifications of their actions. 30Duck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted Wednesday at 03:19 AM That story made me think back to when Chicago Cubs fans turned on one of their own. Game 6, 2003, NL Championship series between the Florida Marlins and the Cubs. Cubs led 3-0 in the 8th, a Marlin batter hits a foul ball, Moise Alou is ready to catch it, but Cubs fan, Steve Bartman wants a souvenir and deflects the ball. The Cubs fell apart after that, lost that game and game 7, and Bartman was harassed by Cubs fan for months, to the point he needed police protection.
DrJacksPlaidPants Author Moderator No. 3 Share Posted Wednesday at 03:38 PM I remember this young man who purposely vomited on a 11-year-old girls at a Phillies game because her father told him to watch his language. As you can see from the picture, a bunch of other fans in his section gave him a little tune-up before the cops got to him and took him to jail.
