National College Football Analyst Ranks Oregon Ducks, Ohio State as Top Teams for Next Season

In a way-too-early top 10 ranking, FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt places the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State, Buckeyes, and Penn State Nittany Lions in the top 5 for next season. Outside of the Big Ten, Klatt also believes in the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs.

2025 Biggest Games for B1G + Other Teams in CBS' Top 25.

The 2025 college football season is full of great matchups of the inter- and intra-conference variety.

No surprise that the Ducks game at Penn State on 9/27/25 is the most anticipated 2025 game.

A good question, other WTE Polls have MIA at 10, 12, 23.

Ohio State is still celebrating the 2024 national championship, but it's never too early to start looking ahead at the key questions for 2025.

The B1G has lost DCs at Minnesota, now at Miami, and Penn State, now at Clemson.

Is Ohio State's Jim Knowles the next DC to depart?

SATURDAYTRADITION.COM

Jim Knowles could be on the outs at Ohio State, with a couple of destinations already being rumored as fits for the defensive coordinator.

Ohio State wants to keep Knowles in Columbus.

SPORTS.YAHOO.COM

Ohio State has made Jim Knowles a contract extension offer that would make him the highest-paid defensive coordinator.

Someone please tell the author that OREGON is a member of the Big Ten. 😧

That is a glaring Omission.

What is it with writers forgetting about Oregon?

"In choosing his team for the Big Ten, Connelly opted for a program that hasn't won the conference championship in nearly a decade. He believes the Penn State Nittany Lions will bounce back from their College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and capture the Big Ten title for the first time since 2016.

Connelly's strategy for selecting the Big Ten winner is to choose the best team other than Ohio State, as they have won four consecutive Big Ten titles, and he prefers not to bet against a streak."

Okay, wait a minute, the writer didn't forget Oregon, I think it's just a confusing sentence. The "they" isn't referring to Ohio State, it is a collective "they," including Oregon, Michigan, and whoever won the B1G the two years before that, it wasn't osu2.

2025 is a critical year for Riley and USC. DUH!

TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

USC football and Lincoln Riley do not have the benefit of the doubt heading into the 2025 season, nor do they deserve it.

As I discussed with Charles the other day, now that SC's academics have greatly improved, does the administration, alumni, alumna, and students still put an emphasis on sports success?

Yes, SC paid huge for Riley and Musselman but where is the fan enthusiasm? CBB attendance is bad.

Of course, as a guy who had season tickets for Runnin' Rebels games when Tark had it going on, what has happened to CBB? UNLV routinely went for 90 points plus every game. The team often scored over 100 points when it played in the Convention Center before the 3-point line was in play.

Today's CBB play is a rock fight. (Beware of waving cane. 🤬)

This article focuses on Tennessee. The Vols have one of the easiest 2025 SEC schedules and should finish in the SEC top three. But will Tennessee represent, besides its fans showing up for a road game, in the first round?

FanDuel has four teams with the highest win totals, 10.5: OBD, TOSU, Penn State, and Notre Dame: three midwest schools and The Best of the West. 👍👌😍

More FanDuel Power 4 Win Totals.

SATURDAYBLITZ.COM

As we inch closer to spring practices, the first set of win totals for the 2025 college football season has arrived, and there’s already plenty to talk about.

Another site underrating Illinois. I cannot find a Win Total for the Illini.

Illinois plays at Indiana but otherwise, the schedule is favorable, no Michigan, Oregon, Penn State; Ohio State, and USC are home games. 16 starters are back including underrated QB Luke Altmyer. IMO The Illini will make a run at the playoff.
