Jon Joseph Moderator No. 1 Share Posted Sunday at 05:19 PM A fourteen-team playoff in 2024-25. Scenario No. 1 would have been just Ducky. What a 14-team College Football Playoff would have looked like in 2024, assuming new proposals take effect - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Roadmapping the four different first rounds a proposed 14-team CFP would have yielded Unfortunately, with the Sun Belt, Mountain West, and the Pac-Whatever having a Veto, we'll see the same stuff next season with the possibility of the No. 1 seed being hosed over yet again. The only reason for ACC, B12, the G6, and Notre Dame to agree to a change in the format next season is the potential for the Power Two to turn the PO into a B1G/SEC World Series starting in 2026. How far would OBD have advanced if Oregon lost to Penn State in Indianapolis, and instead of playing No. 8 seed () Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, played SMU in Autzen and Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl? The No. 7 and No. 8 seeds played for the title. This would be huge news in the CBB tournament but drew crickets in the CFB PO because scribes, fans, Greg Sankey, and other cretins knew that the format was bogus.
30Duck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted Sunday at 05:32 PM For years, OBD have come close, so close to winning a Nattty, but a loss during the season, a QB goes down in the desert...etc., etc. Then Oregon goes B1G, goes undefeated, wins the conference championship. Only to find out this time it would have been better to have not gone 12-0, and to avoid the CCG altogether. Talk about moving the goalposts! 1
