If You Are a Fan of Another School...Georgia, Florida, Ohio State, etc....

If you are NOT an Oregon fan and you are on this forum?

You guys have added so much interest these last few months, and it really helps me to see opinions and perspectives outside of my Eugene, Oregon blinders. Oh sure, there are occasional issues with the other CFB fans, but not any different than with Oregon fans.

Bottom line is that there are great, reasonable people at all schools who love college football as we do.  And not only do I want to say "Thanks," but wish to encourage you to continue posting your thoughts and...send other fans along!

Fans from all schools are welcome here!  As long as you abide by our rules...and you all do--we would enjoy your thoughts, and feedback on the coming season.  Know anyone who is a B1G fan? I'd love more of them here to give us their thoughts...

Fun times coming!

I'd love to hear from a Badger believer. Penn State, come on down! Minnesota, that will sting for a while, but the Golden Gophers played a great game. Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, I'd love to hear a take on Cig. It is harder to remember all the teams in the B1G, having posts from their fans would make that easier.

I've heard rumors of fans from East Coast Oregon aka Maryland (with less success) but they're generally more basketball oriented. For some reason in my experience football fans generally post and try to get more info on other programs. I don't run a website so I could be completely wrong.

There's also a raucous group of Nebraska fans that I've had good interactions with personally. Does anybody know a Rutgers fan? I saw a banner once saying Rutgers was the birthplace of college football.

Widely considered as the birthplace of football

America's first official football game was played on November 6, 1869, between Rutgers and Princeton, two college teams in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Rutgers University and its neighbor, New Jersey (later known as Princeton) played that first game of intercollegiate football on a plot of ground where the present-day Rutgers gymnasium now stands.

The first game is now considered the birthplace of football. Rutgers won the game, 6-4. "The Birthplace Of College Football" signs are currently displayed around Rutgers football stadium. The National College Athletic Association (NCAA) describes the matchup as the first American football game ever played. The Pro Football Hall Of Fame recognizes it as the first ever game.
