Jon Joseph Moderator No. 2 Share Posted February 6 THIS makes as little sense as the house settlement appointing 7 folks from Deloitte who will determine if a NIL deal is within "market value." Why not simply hang out a 'Sue Me Again' sign? 'Market Value' is whatever the market will bear. Chip Kelly just broke the NFL assistant coach's salary record, scoring $6M a year from the Raiders. A group of accountants says: "This is out of line!" and Chip is supposed to bend over. The proposed $2B House settlement is as antiquated as the term 'student-athlete.' It's designed to keep the NCAA afloat at a time when top athletic programs do not need the NCAA. BK the NCAA and come out of the process with an omnibus plan of reorganization that recognizes today's reality. I'm not that smart. No attorneys advising the NCAA can see how short-sighted House and all of these other band aides are in a day when big-time football and basketball are completely and unutterably capitalized. Is there a lawyer with half a brain in the House? The Emperor Has No Clothes!
