Nebraska Beats UCLA 5-0 to Win B1G Tournament

Recommended Posts

They won it by that score as they had a pitcher have a career day.

----------------------------------------

Nebraska is leading UCLA 5-0 in the 6th inning in the Big Ten Championship.

Huskers 31-27 leading 42-15 UCLA.  The earlier win over the Ducks 42-14 shows Nebraska can get their s** together when it counts apparently.

Well, it helps the national perception, no doubt, and I agree with you on that. It also gets another B1G team in the tournament if Nebraska wins, but will it cost USC their slot?

I forgot about this, but while the entire Baseball bracket is revealed Monday morning, the sixteen regional sites will be announced late this afternoon. I will post it when it is available, as we will then see our fate without waiting for tomorrow.

Yep.  5:30 today.   Forgot about that from last year's announcement.

Monday is the who goes where announcement for the other 48 teams hitting the road.

Baseball sure is a funny game.  That's why it's played on the field, not on paper.

Here are the baseball scores involving Nebraska, Oregon, OSU and UCLA.

Regular season scores:

UCLA beat Nebraska 5-2, 11-3 and 5-3 but lost the one that counts 5-0.

Oregon beat UCLA 2-1 and 10-6 and lost 14-4.

Nebraska beat Beavis 7-3 and 16-7 and lost 16-5.

OSU beat UCLA 7-1.

Nebraska beat Oregon 7-3.

Go figure.

Nebraska won 5-0 as their pitcher had an incredible day. This means a fourth B1G team will make the tournament, but what the impact will be on Oregon, on UCLA, is unknown. Yeah, the Cornhuskers were hot, but Oregon was hotter, IMHO.

All started from an outfielder's dropped ball...
