Posted Thursday at 07:37 PM2 days Moderator The Ohio State-Oregon rivalry is primed to be one of the best new rivalries in the Big Ten for a long time. So what does former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer think of Oregon's young head coach Dan Lanning? On Tuesday’s episode of The Triple Option podcast, Meyer spoke glowingly of the 39-year-old head coach. Meyer boldly asserted that Lanning is a top two or three head coach in the country right now. The three-time national champion praised Lanning for his enthusiasm and believes that he's built a program that "ain't going away."“The big gold trophy, that’s it. I went to visit him last year, went to Spring practice, talked to the team, talked to the staff. Watched him behind the scenes. I think he’s certainly one of the Top 2-3 coaches in country right now,” Meyer said. “I love his enthusiasm. And here’s what’s really neat, he loves Oregon. He loves that place. His family loves it. He’s got a niche out there, he’s got Nike, it’s a beautiful school, he’s got great facilities. This one ain’t going away.”Urban Meyer Makes His Opinion On Dan Lanning Extremely Clear

Thursday at 11:06 PM1 day Moderator I agree with Urban, and I never thought I'd ever say that, but I have Lanning at No.2 right now, behind Smart. I wouldn't trade Lanning for any other coach out there. The "white noise" I'll associate with Lanning now is what comes up whenever a high profile coaching job appears. Lanning has made it as clear as he can, he isn't going anywhere, but that won't stop it.

Who are the true college football blue bloods? The latter was of recent interest to the crew of The Triple Option podcast, which discussed that very question when it came to one school. Oregon“They’re a relative blue blood,” former coach Urban Meyer said. “But they’re not a historical blue blood.”What does that mean, exactly? Well, it means that Oregon is one of the current powers in college football. And even if the Ducks haven’t reached the highest level in the sport just yet, they seem right on the verge.“So as of right now anybody in their common sense says, ‘OK, give me the blue bloods of college football,'” Meyer said. “You say, ‘Absolutely Oregon.'”Urban Meyer answers if Oregon is a blue blood in college football
