Quite a statistical statement!

Actually is a shocking stat, and that’s pre-NIL. One would think it’s going to become more common. Top programs are going to be creating all-star teams more and more. What’s the motivation to pay freshmen unless they’re good enough to start from day 1?

ESPN thinks that there could be some regression this season due to the influx of new talent and the lack of returning production.  The Ducks return just four total starters from that 2024 team and will rely on a long list of young and unproven players to lead the way.

"The Ducks are 115th in returning production, 125th on offense. We'll find out just how healthy Dan Lanning's program is this season with that amount of turnover," Connelly writes.

I feel like this is fairly disingenuous, the ducks have only five starters from last year's team but they have a bunch of starters that transferred in with a lot of game experience.

Almost the entire defense started last year for the ducks or their previous team with a couple exceptions. The offensive line is in the same boat and really the only positions without returning starters are QB and WR.

I get that they're in a new scheme, but a senior who's got starting experience that transfers in from Northwestern or Purdue are pretty seasoned and won't make the freshman mistakes that many first-time starters would.
