Some Oregon trivia.

Oregon (not the university) definitely has a connection to the Grateful Dead. Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters took the bus, in the photo, across the country and handed out LSD at parties in the 60’s.

Kesey graduated from Springfield high school.

The Grateful Dead played at many of the “electric parties” that Kesey and the pranksters hosted. Therefore, there is a strong connection to the Eugene area. Kesey, the pranksters, and the Grateful Dead definitely had an influence on the “hippie” culture that started at the time.

Tye dye clothing was worn by many of our hippie youth as a sign of peace and love.
