Friday at 07:53 PM1 day No. Duck baseball fans, we are a week away from the opening pitch. I am looking forward to a potential successful season. The one thing that I have a problem with is opening at home in the cold Pacific Northwest. Did you know that Oregon, UCLA and USC are the only B1G schools starting the season at home? I can see the Bruins and Trojans playing at home in the the warmth of Southern California, but why Oregon? All the other B1G schools are starting their season on the road.Wouldn't it be beneficial to both players, coaches and fans to start the season in some warmer weather? One other game that I will have a mild interest in is following the Portland Pilots, as they square off against the Purdue Boilermakers in a four game series in Sugarland, Texas.
1 hour ago1 hr Administrator No. We used to have opening series in warmer places like Hawaii for many years, but I think Waz wants focus on our home field advantage. Well that, and he has a ton of questions to answer with his starting lineup, and doesn't want to risk losses quite-so-much?But I hear ya...and Oregon will be Las Vegas for a big tournament before long...
