The D1Baseball poll came out for this week, and Oregon remains ranked and poised to move higher with more wins.

No. 1 UCLA 36-3

No. 6 Beavis 30-8 (Who we play in Corvallis on Wednesday night at 5:35)

No. 19 Oregon 28-11

No. 20 Nebraska 31-9

No. 23 USC 30-11

The Big-10 rankings are in great flux, although UCLA has run away with it, and everyone else is playing for second, or simply good NCAA seeding later. Gotta win games!

Oregon averages 7.8 runs per game,

and give us good relief pitching....?

The B1G Ten tournament, featuring 12 teams, will have a new look this spring. The first three days of the tournament will feature a double-elimination brackets, pairing eight teams seeded 5-12. Four games will be held on Tuesday May 19th and Wednesday May 20th and two games on Thursday May 21st to produce four qualifiers.

The four advancing teams will face seeds 1-4 in a single elimination quarterfinals on Friday May 22nd. Semi-finals take place on Saturday May 23rd, followed by the championship game On Sunday, May 24th. All 17 tournament games will be carried live on the B1G Ten network.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have captured the last two titles. The games will be played at Charles Schwab field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Our Ducks are currently in 4th place. With home games against Penn St. and USC, road games against Washington and UCLA, they face a challenge, especially against the Trojans and Bruins. It's imperative that they finish in the top four. Schools that finish between the 5 and 12 seeds simply won't have enough pitching to win the tournament.

The Bruins will probably win it, but a runner-up for 2nd place would be quite the accomplishment for Oregon.
