Started four games as Oregon QB in 2018, then transferred to Virginia Tech.

 

Started all 12 games for VT this year.

 

Entered the portal from Tech as a "graduate transfer"

I always felt bad for Burmeister when he was here in Oregon.  He was clearly not ready to be a starter but was forced into it due to QBs transferring out and Herbert getting injured...he was literally thrown to the wolves.  He seems to have faired a bit better at VT the last couple years which I'm happy for him.

BB definitely got the raw deal when he was here.   I am surprised that he is transferring as I thought he was very well accepted at VT and has played well, up to his skill level.  His throws are still wobbly as heck, but he runs well.

 

Personally, I am wondering if MC didn't play TT because he was trying to avoid the same mistake with BB...   If true, that means these recruiting ratings hold way too much water.   BB was a 4-star, so was Shough.

VT just went through a coaching change, which probably explains why BB is getting out.
