Guest Axel No. 2 Share Posted February 27, 2022 Let’s look at the bright side. USC is good again in basketball and that makes the Pac-12 better. It’s way more fun when teams are good against the Ducks, because it makes for exciting games. Elevated blood pressure is good, because cardiologists get more patients. They’re having a sale at Best Buy, so it’s easy to replace the TV that you just ripped off the wall and threw out the window.
Haywarduck Moderator No. 3 Share Posted February 27, 2022 Time win up north and continue to get better. There is always hope with a Dana Altman team, but this team needs to get hot shooting the rock and they were cold last night. SC is a very good, disruptive team, but we may get another chance and it isn't over yet!
Just Ducky No. 4 Share Posted February 27, 2022 Hard to beat a team that makes half of their 3 pointers. Or when you foul a 3 point shooter near the end of the game. These guys are causing Dana to grow old faster than he probably wants to. His teams most always get better as the season progresses and that doesn’t seem to be happening this season.
JDuck No. 5 Share Posted February 27, 2022 I'd be surprised if we don't end up in the NIT. It would probably take winning the P12 tournament...if they play well that's totally realistic, but we just don't have a closer, a go-to guy. Richardson was 0-8 last night. We shot poorly--again--and got out-rebounded but still had a shot and lost by 1. Didn't seem like the inbounds with 4 seconds left set us up well, but hard to blame DA. Looking forward to the 5* true point guard coming in next season
TheRunningDuck No. 6 Share Posted February 27, 2022 If they beat the Washington schools and win 2 Pac 12 tourney games I believe they will be in the NCAA tourney. Tourney "experts" determine nothing.

If he'd gone 1-8 last night, in particular that last shot, he'd have been the hero! Instead that final 4 seconds is what this season has come down to. No other Ducks team that I can think of, or any team really, win or lose so much on whether their shots go in. And with this team it's definitely "live by the 3, die by the 3". At the start of games Harmon in particular will take it to the basket. But eventually he too, is satisfied by launching 3's. Dante is the highest % on the team, against the Trojans, Richardson played 35 minutes, went 0-8. Dante, 24 minutes, 4-6., and Dante was 4-4 on free throws. Perhaps the last play should have been to Dante at the basket?
