In all seriousness, I'm very impressed by Coach Waz and how he's managing this Ducks squad. He who plays for the big inning tends to win lots of baseball games. I loathe small ball--it gives away those most precious things in baseball--outs, it takes at-bats away from players, and it undermines player confidence. Seeing pitches and having at-bats is key to improving one's hitting ability. The previous coach of the Ducks tried to insert himself into games way too many times with his dopey bunting strategy. It made for an awful fan experience--very boring baseball, and it wasn't a very great experience for his players either.
