Interesting stat, 7 of WSU's runs came via their 4 homeruns!

Got to stop giving up the long ball on Sunday. 😮

This makes 7 homers hit by WSU in the first two games.

Our starting pitchers are killing us!

Guest Axel

It was very disappointing--maddening is the word--to bail the pitchers out on Friday night with an amazing comeback, and then to have the pitching fail once again on Saturday, the same day as the spring football game. The Ducks valiantly turned an 8-1 deficit into a close game, but we can't expect the offense to score double digits all the time.

At this point, it's unrealistic to expect that the Ducks can win the Pac-12 title or go very far in the NCAA tournament with inept pitching. The Ducks will hit, but the pitching must improve and improve quickly.

Coach Wasikowski should be able to recruit some strong starters and relievers--many pitchers will want to come to Oregon and receive massive run support. Unfortunately, that will not help the Ducks this season. The guys on the staff now need to step up.

It really is unforgivable to score eight runs against a bad team like Washington State and lose to them. And yes, the Cougars are a bad team at 6-14 in the Pac-12.

Reliable Starting Pitchers are hard to come by and it’s hurting the Ducks.
