The conference probably hopes change will carry over to something else, too -- namely, its status among power conferences.

The potential was obvious, but the Ducks played at a plodding tempo that minimized a lot of their per-play advantages (they averaged just 11.0 drives per game, eighth-fewest in FBS).   Wow, just bad.
