ICamel No. 1 Share Posted September 22, 2022 And not "juiced" in the steroids way After Tuesday's FishDuck Feed article and the interview with Head Coach Mark Wasikowski... And a new one today I am getting excited for spring and the 2023 edition of our Diamond Ducks! A few quotes to get your juices flowing; "Oregon began fall practices on September 15 with a group that head coach Mark Wasikowski said is bigger and stronger than past teams." “You’ve got guys that know what it’s like to be in postseason play,” Wasikowski said. “There’s also a certain level of hungriness now where they’ve tasted success, and now they want more.” “Oregon’s fall roster features 20 new players. But an abundance of freshmen certainly doesn’t mean a lack of size — just look at 6-foot-9 pitcher Dylan McShane or 6-foot-6 infielder Dominic Hellman.” “Oregon will be holding a scrimmage schedule open to the public. Two of the scrimmages will occur before home football games, including one at 2:30 p.m. on October 1 before Oregon takes on Stanford. Those are great opportunities for our guys to play in front of fans, even though it isn’t probably a super rowdy environment,” Wasikowski said. “It’s going to be a social tailgating type of an environment where fans can come and watch — fantastic.” What else is fantastic? Charles Fischer Administrator No. 2 Share Posted September 22, 2022 For Oregon Baseball Fans... Oregon recruited the No. 1 and No. 2 pitchers on Team Canada, and the No. 1 guy can throw up to 97 mph. There is some hitter at 6'5" who apparently was hitting fastballs over the Scoreboard? Whew! When asked about the 20 new players between freshmen and transfers, Coach Waz appeared to be in a catbird seat as he said "It is fun to watch!" That sounds like a coach who is pretty pleased with the talent he has recruited. Fun to watch for! One of Oregon's best all-time players, Tanner Smith, has decided to return! Charles Fischer Administrator No. 4 Share Posted September 22, 2022 Ha! I was just about to post the No. 5 recruiting class article! "Oregon's class, which is the top-ranked class in the Pac-12 and the only one from the conference in the top 15 . The No. 5 ranking matches the highest-ranked class in school history, joining the 2010 class." We did pretty well later with the 2010 class as I recall...
