I wrote in my article today with Dazed, about how we needed to keep Cal off-balance with something new...and Dilly came through.

 

Did you see the Pistol used extensively, but successfully, and not repeated "A" gap plunges.  This is a game that Cristobal would have lost.  (Oh yeah, he did lose at Cal in 2020 to an inferior team)

 

Did you notice the new play of a combo of pulling a guard like a Power-Play, with a delay like a Draw play....bizarre, as I've seen nothing like it!  Then Dilly runs sequential plays off of it, and play-action passes of of it.  It completely messed Cal up.

 

Damn, that is good game-planning and coaching.  It is hard for the best DC to be prepared for something they have not seen in prior game tapes!  I know...I am gushing about Dilly.
