Assessing  Alex Forsyth, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, and T.J. Bass',  performances at the 2023 NFL Combine

It makes sense that they’re saving the big boys for the final day of the 2023 NFL Combine.

While a lot of people like to tune in and watch the quarterbacks and wide receivers work and check out the defensive backs who make the highlight plays, it is often the men up front in the trenches who have some of the biggest impacts on the game.

For the Oregon Ducks, there will be a lot to watch on Sunday in Indianapolis, with three of the six former players taking the field. Alex Forsyth, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, and T.J. Bass are all going through drills and working to up their draft stock ahead of April.

TJ Bass had a solid showing at the NFL Combine, but he can certainly stand to gain some ground at Oregon’s Pro Day.

The 2023 NFL Combine is now behind us, and the six Oregon Ducks who were in attendance should feel pretty good about how things went.

At the top of the charts was cornerback Christian Gonzalez, a player who went into the combine as a projected first-round pick, but may have raised his draft stock to the point where it’s possible he’s taken inside the top 10.

Players like DJ Johnson and Noah Sewell also performed well, while offensive linemen Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu and T.J. Bass held their own.

Alex Forsyth suffered a hamstring tweak at the combine, limiting him in most drills. However, he still came away with a solid combine grade, and will have a chance to put up some numbers at Oregon’s Pro Day on March 14.

Here are some of the best pictures of the Ducks at the combine.

Christian Gonzalez named one of biggest winners of NFL Combine

There were a lot of players at the 2023 NFL Combine who were able to take advantage of the opportunity and use it to boost their draft capital, but few were able to do as well as Oregon Ducks cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, who was already projected to be a first-round pick heading into the combine, might have propelled himself up the board a bit based on his measurables and on-field performance.

How Christian Gonzalez compares to other top-rated CBs following NFL Combine

The NFL Combine is now behind us, which means that draft talk is going to start to really ramp up more than it already had over the next couple of weeks as we speed toward the month of April and, ultimately, the big day.

While we still have a long list of pro days to come at the top schools around the nation, offering players a chance to work out and show prospective NFL teams what they have to offer, the combine gave us a good early look at some of the best players in this year’s draft class.

How does Gonzalez stack up with the rest of the cornerbacks in the class though, and where does his NFL Combine grade fall after all is said and done?

Christian Gonzalez got a “Year 1 Starter” grade at the NFL Combine. How does that compare to the rest of the CB class in 2023?
