Oregon is coming off a 2022 campaign that saw the Ducks qualify for the postseason for the second consecutive season, where they played in the Louisville Regional. Oregon finished the 2022 season 36-25 and fourth in the Pac-12 Conference with an 18-12 league record. Oregon returns 19 letter winners from last year’s squad, including six starters among position players and eight members of the pitching staff. The Ducks also feature Baseball America’s No. 5 recruiting class in the nation. Oregon Team Information The Ducks return 19 letter winners (10 position players/9 pitchers). Two former All-Americans (Tanner Smith – Collegiate Baseball - 2021; Jacob Walsh – Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America - 2022) return to lead the team. The Ducks return starters at catcher (Josiah Cromwick/Bennett Thompson), first base (Jacob Walsh) second base (Gavin Grant), third base (Drew Cowley), left field (Smith) and center field (Colby Shade). The Ducks return three hitters from last season who batted better than .300 in Cowley (.424/.506/.616), Smith (.317/.370/.489) and Shade (.305/.400/.438). The Ducks’ pitching staff returns six pitchers that made double-digit appearances and one other that made eight starts. Oregon’s recruiting class is the No. 5 ranked class in the country by Baseball America. The Ducks added three transfers from four-year colleges, five junior college transfers and 16 high school players. Oregon opens its season Feb. 17-19 with a four-game series at PK Park vs. Xavier.
