Dana Altman says lineup changes are coming following Oregon's blowout loss to ASU

With 14 games remaining in the regular season, Oregon finds itself at a fork in the road. The Ducks are 9-8 on the year and 3-3 in Pac-12 play. They sit at No. 76 in Friday’s updated NET rankings — one spot behind the Utah Valley squad that upset them at home on Dec. 20.

At this point, their resume is nowhere near polished enough to garner an NCAA tournament bid.

“But, we can’t keep doing the same thing. So we’re going to change things up.”

Oregon hopes for upset as lineup changes are coming against No. 9 Arizona

No. 9 Arizona comes to town Saturday afternoon for a contest that was expected to feature two of the nation's best teams. The Wildcats have certainly lived up to that billing with a 15-2 record, but Oregon has struggled all year and enters 9-8.

A win on Saturday for Oregon and the Ducks claim its best win in two seasons and start the climb back to get onto the NCAA Tournament bubble. A loss, and the Ducks continue their downward spiral further away from the big dance.

Dana Altman said the Ducks will be mixing up its starting lineup and rotations after another poor night. He didn't give many details other than to say the Ducks can't keep doing what they're doing if they hope to save the season.

Oregon blows out Arizona for impressive season-saving win

The Ducks beat No. 10 Arizona 87-68 at Matthew Knight Arena Saturday afternoon behind a change in their starting lineup and the best intensity we've seen from the Ducks all year. Saturday was a total beatdown of one of the best teams in the country at a time when the Ducks needed it so badly.

Oregon held the Wildcats to just 38 percent shooting, forced the Wildcats into 16 turnovers, and the Ducks dominated the paint with a 42-32 rebounding advantage and scoring 40 of their 87 points in the paint.

N’Faly Dante, Jermaine Couisnard lead Oregon men’s basketball to redemption in upset of No. 9 Arizona

The tone was set by N’Faly Dante in the opening minute. The Oregon center threw down a dunk, stole a pass and then the 6-foot-11 Dante followed with a thunderous posterizing jam over Arizona’s Kerr Kriisa that brought the crowd of 7,970 at Matthew Knight Arena to its feet.

Jermaine Couisnard scored 27 points and had five rebounds and Dante added 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oregon to a 87-68 blowout of Arizona.

It was the the best win of the season for Oregon (10-8, 4-3 Pac-12), which got its first over a NET top 15 opponent since beating UCLA last season.
