Ducks seek improved offensive play in Friday's meeting with Colorado

Kelly Graves won't be burning Sunday's game film against Stanford. While the result wasn't to the team's liking, not everything that took place in the 62-54 loss was bad.

The Ducks protected the ball well with a season-low five turnovers, and defended better too, holding Stanford to its fourth worst shooting day (37.3 percent) of the season and its second lowest point total to boot.

"We played the kind of game defensively on the road that should've allowed us to have a chance to win that," Oregon coach Kelly Graves told reporters on Wednesday.

Ducks look to gain momentum on Friday against Colorado

The Ducks will look for a better offensive performance after shooting a season-low 25 percent at Stanford. That shooting percentage is the worst since 2016.

Colorado (16-5, 7-3) has emerged as one of the Pac-12's best teams. They've already secured wins over Pac-12 contenders Utah, Arizona and UCLA this season and played Stanford tough too.

Ducks remain in offensive funk as Colorado hands them second straight defeat

Poor shooting and untimely turnovers did the Ducks in once again.

Forty minutes came and went, and the home team failed to put a single three-point shot down, as the visiting Colorado Buffaloes handed them a 63-53 loss. The defeat drops the Ducks (14-8, 5-6) below .500 in Pac-12 play this season with the heart of the schedule still before them.

The defeat marked the first game of the season without a made three-point shot. The Ducks also went 0-of-16 from three in a home win over California last February.

Oregon women’s basketball loses to Colorado at home for 1st time since 2014, falls under .500 in Pac-12 play

For the second time in as many seasons, Oregon failed to make a three-pointer and its postseason chances are quickly diminishing.

Endyia Rogers and Grace VanSlooten each scored 15 points for the Ducks, who were outmatched and outplayed in every statistic by Colorado and West Linn’s Aaronette Vonleh, who scored a career-high 22 to lead the Buffaloes to a 63-53 win Friday night before 5,919 at Matthew Knight Arena.

Shooting Slump Hurts Ducks In Loss

Oregon's offensive funk continued Friday as the Ducks dropped a 63-53 decision to Colorado in Matthew Knight Arena.

The Ducks shot 36.4 percent and didn't make a three-pointer for the first time this season, dropping their fifth game in the last seven. Coming off a 20-of-80 shooting performance at Stanford, Oregon was 20-of-55 on Friday, including 0-of-16 from three-point range.

"The last couple games we've defended well enough to win basketball games," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "(But) 20-of-80 from the field the other night, 0-of-16 from three tonight, you're just not going to beat good teams the Pac-12 with those kind of shooting percentages."

I was worried during the Covid Canceled season that Oregon's woman's basketball might never get another chance at a championship and that looks like that might be the case. The so called rebuilding is taking forever and this just might be what Oregon is. A team that is top 20ish for most of the season and then becomes a top 30ish team once Pac 12 play starts.
