N'Faly Dante says he's playing vs UCLA after ankle injury vs Washington State

Dante didn't finish the game's final minute of action after getting some medical treatment quickly. He returned to the Oregon bench, but for now, it sounds like the Ducks maybe dodged an injury.

"I think he's moving okay. The trainers are working on him in the locker room," said head coach Dana Altman after the team's 75-70 win over Washington State in the Pac-12 Quarterfinals.

Dante spoke with the media inside Oregon's locker room postgame and declared he'd be playing Friday night against No. 1 seed UCLA.

"I am good. I just have to rest this," said Dante. "Just a little twist. I am fine."

No. 1 seed UCLA showdown looms large for Ducks in Pac-12 semifinals

The Ducks are still working their way up the NCAA Tournament at-large ladder and are one win away from playing in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Up next for the Ducks is a showdown with the league's regular-season champion and No. 1 seed UCLA.

A win for Oregon will likey put the Ducks right on the bubble for next week's tournament and a loss is likely going to keep them out of the NCAA Tournament. The season could truly be on the line Friday night.

"Well, it's the next game. We really got to focus. UCLA's really well-coached. They're really talented. They have got a couple of freshmen that are really good and they got a couple three vets that are really, really good," said Oregon head coach Dana Altman after the team's win against Washington State.

Can Oregon Ducks limit Jaime Jaquez, upset top-seeded UCLA in Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament?

If UO can avoid three losses to the same opponent in a single season for just the third time in Dana Altman’s tenure it’ll earn a spot in the conference championship game, where it can remove all doubt about its postseason fate by winning the automatic bid.

“We know what we’ve got to do: We’ve got to out-rebound people and we’ve got to defend,” Altman said. “We haven’t been successful against UCLA twice because they out-rebounded us. They got us in the second half. We led both games at half and they just out-rebounded us the second half. So we’re going to have to do a better job there and we’re just going to have to have a much better second half.”

Oregon vs UCLA carries important NCAA Tournament stakes for both Ducks and Bruins

The Oregon Duck men's basketball team has a chance to change its postseason outlook with a clash in the Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals. It's a game that's drawing some national attention that could have big implications for next week's NCAA Tournament.

"I am going to go to the Pac-12. Oregon a fringe bubble team getting a shot at UCLA, which is trying to reprove itself with Jaylen Clark out now that they can be a No. 1 seed type of team," CBSSports Jerry Palm said when asked about big games being played on Friday he's paying attention to.

The Ducks and Bruins both have a lot on the line. For UCLA the Bruins are in contention for a No. 1 seed in the tournament and are also trying to lock up the top seed out west for programs located in the region. Palm believes the Bruins need to win the Pac-12 Tournament to likely claim a No. 1 seed.

"For Oregon, they are trying to play their way up and into the bracket from way deep a couple of weeks ago," said Palm. "With all these teams falling up, they are still playing. This is a big opportunity for the Oregon Ducks."

Still can't shoot, no worry about the outside shots means it's difficult to get anything inside.

There is no excuse to not win this game with Bona out, you have to win this game at this point.

Pathetic defense, absolutely pathetic play, can't even defend simple pick and roll.

This game is a great representation of the entire year, can't shoot, not much heart, not much hustle, no leadership, horrible point guard play, horrible wing play, guys standing around just hoping Dante saves their butt.

Please, please, please!!!! Dana go find some guys who actually have some dog in them!   Find some guys who can actually hit an open shot!  Find some guys who can defend a pick and roll.

Oregon struggles to hang with UCLA and gets blown out

For just the third time in Dana Altman's 13 years as head coach of the Oregon Ducks a team has beaten Oregon three times in one season. For Oregon, it came in a game they absolutely needed to get to ensure a spot in the NCAA Tournament field next year.

With the loss in the Pac-12 Semifinals, the Ducks are knocked out of the Pac-12 Tournament with a 19-14 overall record. Oregon is likely unable to get into the NCAA Tournament with the loss.

The Ducks had their moments in the game having the lead in both the first and the second half, but a cold shooting performance in the second half kept the Ducks from being able to keep pace with the Pac-12 regular season champion.

Oregon went over five minutes of game time in the final minutes of the second half without a field goal and made just ten total field goals in the second half.

MBB Recap: Ducks falter late in 19-point loss to UCLA Bruins

For the second straight year, it appears that the Oregon Ducks will not get an invite to the big dance.

Jaime Jaquez and Tyger Campbell led the way for UCLA, blowing the game wide open late in the second half and taking the life out of the Ducks. It was a frustrating way for the game to end, and it caps off an extremely frustrating year. Here’s how it all went down.

Another frustrating loss for Oregon, and one that seals their NIT future rather than an NCAA Tournament invite.
