Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 4 Share Posted March 17, 2023 Ducks aim to knock off Cardinal in first home series of the season This Friday, Oregon will take its home field for the first time this season as red-hot Stanford visits Jane Sanders Stadium in hopes of continuing a 20-game win streak. The No. 7 Cardinal haven’t lost since Feb. 11, tasking the No. 20 Ducks with thwarting one of the nation’s longest win streaks in their first home series of 2023. Led by a phenomenal pitching staff that hasn’t allowed a run in the month of March, Stanford leads the Pac-12 in ERA and opposing batting average. Individually, senior Alana Vawter has allowed just a 0.95 ERA, while freshman NiJaree Canaday has failed to allow a run in 48 innings pitched. Why was the second scored run reversed? (My DVR didn't get the end of the game.) Hi Mudslide. I am sorry I do not know what the reasoning was. I was ready to post that we were up 3-1 and noticed that it was taken off. I was actually watching the baseball game when all that occurred as they were having a big inning at the same time! I am sure when the articles come in, it will be mentioned.

Pennsylvania Duck Author Moderator No. 27 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Morgan Scott shines as Ducks end Stanford's 21-game win streak Morgan Scott picked up a complete-game victory on Saturday, as Oregon outlasted Stanford 2-1 in a defensive battle between ranked teams at Jane Sanders Stadium. After dropping the series-opener against the No. 7 Cardinal, the No. 20 Ducks picked up their first home win of the season, forcing a split against a Stanford team that had won 21 straight games entering Saturday. After surrendering two hits and a run in the first frame. Scott subdued the Cardinal for the remainder of the game, allowing just two hits and no runs over the final six innings. The UNC Greensboro transfer finished the game with four strikeouts, one base on balls, and zero earned runs in a full seven innings of play. “Morgan’s good,” head coach Melyssa Lombardi said. “She’s got good movement, throws the ball hard, and it was great to see her really thrive in this game — and it was a tight game all the way through.” Morgan Scott shines as Ducks end Stanford's 21-game win streak 247SPORTS.COM Morgan Scott picked up a complete-game victory on Saturday, as Oregon outlasted Stanford 2-1 in a defensive battle between ranked teams at Jane Sanders Stadium. After DUCKS TAKE DOWN NO. 7 CARDINAL The No. 20 Oregon softball team on Saturday recorded its third win over a top-10 opponent this season, beating No. 7 Stanford 2-1 behind the pitching of Morgan Scott and a couple of clutch hits by Allee Bunker. Scott (4-3) allowed only an unearned run in a four-hit complete game, outdueling Stanford starter NiJaree Canady, who hadn't allowed a run all season entering Saturday. Bunker changed that with a run-scoring single to tie the game in the first inning, and the UO senior drove in another run with her fifth homer of the spring in the sixth. Stanford (23-3) had won 21 straight entering Saturday, needing extra innings to extend that streak in the series opener Friday. But the Cardinal had few answers for Scott, who struck out four and walked just one. "We call it 'demon mode' — she just has a look about her where we're pumped up to play behind her and we know when she's locked in and in the zone," Bunker said. "I think just the energy and her pace of play is what really helps us to thrive."
