Tasty Pitching Gossip for the Ducks--This Weekend

Our pitchers started the season out hot, then the starters took a step back while the relievers (mostly freshmen) surprised us.  The starter on Sundays, Jackson Pace, has been moved to reliever this week, while Saturday starter Leo Uelmen has been moved to Sunday and Logan Mercado starts on Saturday.  (Jace Stoffal starts on Friday as usual) I thought we might see Matt Dallas as a starter considering how hot he has been lately as a reliever.

Eyebrows raised...Coach Waz does not sit tight when there are issues.  (Like giving up seven runs in the first inning!)

It was amazing looking at the ERA numbers for some of the relievers:

Grayson Grinsell's ERA at 4.35 does not look super, but he's had great innings, and some stinkers.  But boy he was superb up in Pullman when we needed it. Freshmen will do that...

Matt Grabmann has a 2.16 ERA.

Ian Umlandt has a 1.93 ERA.

Matt Dallas is at 1.65 ERA.

Austin Anderson has a 1.00 ERA.

Josh Mollerus has a 0.00 ERA....yeah, no runs given up as our closer.  Whew!

Gotta love a pitcher with a Mullet!
