David Stone joins long list of 5-star recruits visiting Eugene for Oregon spring game

The visitor list of recruits at the Oregon Ducks spring game next weekend is hands down growing into the most talented we’ve ever seen in Eugene.

What was already a stacked group of players got even better on Sunday night when 5-star defensive lineman David Stone Jr. announced that he would be in attendance for the spring game.

Stone is the sixth 5-star recruit to announce his intentions to attend the game, joining Dylan Stewart, Elijah Rushing, Colin Simmons, KJ Bolden, and Brandon Baker. Rushing popped up on a visit to Eugene this weekend, so it is unclear whether or not he will return next week for the spring game again.

Stone is rated as the No. 7 overall player in the 2024 class and the No. 2 defensive lineman. At the end of last year, he put the Ducks among his top 10 schools, but this is the first time that we know of him taking a visit out to Eugene.

Long list of Oregon legends to be in attendance at Ducks' spring game

The Spring Game is about more than just the football occurring in between the sidelines. It’s a celebration as a whole for the program and a chance for some familiar faces to show themselves once again inside Autzen.

There will be some notable alumni coming back to campus to check out what the current version of Oregon football looks like. Alumni such as quarterback Dennis Dixon, and receiver De’Anthony Thomas will be joined by other former Ducks.

Quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota and defensive back Jevon Holland will also be in the house as guest coaches.

“Anytime you have guys that were just tremendous Ducks that care so much about our program and make an effort to give back, it’s always great to recreate that,” Oregon head coach Dan

Lanning said. “That’s special for our players, but it’s just special for our fans. They’re loved and adored by every Duck out there. (We) love having them back for us.”

Here’s the updated list of Oregon legends expected in attendance for Saturday’s festivities.

Oregon will host Chander (Ariz.) Basha cornerback Miles Lockhart, a top-200 player in the country. Lockhart tells me he will be in town for the spring game on April 29. He's the top-rated cornerback in the state of Arizona and ranked the No. 18 corner in the 2024 class according to 247 sports.

Oregon has laid the foundation to sign another impressive recruiting class in 2024.

Big-name recruits have been stopping by Eugene all throughout spring, but previous weekends will pale in comparison to the group that Dan Lanning is bringing in this weekend for the spring game.

All of the recent recruiting momentum has led up to the spring game, Oregon's marquee recruiting event of the year.

Here's the latest on who's expected in Eugene in what's shaping up to be a massive recruiting weekend.

This is a confirmed listing of both 2024 and 2025 recruits, along with 2023 commits who are definitely attending.

More Twists and Turns for Oregon Quarterback Recruiting

Delayed commitments and return visits add more intrigue for Will Stein and the Ducks.

Oregon is looking to make a major impact on the recruiting trail in the coming weeks and that starts this weekend.

On Saturday, the Ducks will host a star-studded group of recruits on campus for their spring game, but two names have drawn the most attention in recent days.

Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren and Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope quarterback Luke Moga have both taken unofficial visits to Eugene in recent weeks. As of Monday morning, they'll both be back on campus for the spring game.

For starters, it looks like the Ducks are at the very least seriously considering taking two quarterbacks in the 2024 class. That much we know for sure.

12 candidates to have breakout performances at Ducks' spring game

Spring football games are a fun time for both casual and serious fans of college football. For casual Oregon Duck fans, it offers a chance to get back out to Autzen Stadium and watch the beautiful game of football once again on what is likely to be a sunny afternoon in Eugene.

For serious football fans, it offers the first opportunity to really get a good look at what the Ducks — and in particular the new Ducks — will look like going into the new season.

That’s what we want to talk about today.

Who is going to leave the spring game as a household name for the Ducks? We’ve got a few candidates…

Five Reasons To Attend the Oregon Spring Game

This is the latest Spring game I can recall. It’s also one of the last Power 5 Spring games in the country this year.

But the gamble appears to be paying off for the Ducks. Although you’ll be competing with the NFL draft, to a degree, that doesn’t seem to be a major deterrent.

Here are the five reasons I suggest going to the Oregon Spring game this weekend if your schedule allows.

  • 1. Family Fun, Value and a Good Cause --- It's affordable, a couple of cans of food to donate.
  • 2. The Weather — THE SUN IS COMING!
  • 3. Activities Galore — This new staff under Dan Lanning has done some great work making an event out of the day.
  • 4. Watch Your Ducks — It's your first chance to get a glimpse of the future.
  • 5. Check Out the Recruits — This is the biggest list of recruits ever seen at Oregon. At any time, for any event. It’s insane.

Check out details of these five reasons in the article below.

Spring game DT Roundtable Extravaganza: Storylines, players to watch and predictions

The highlight of Oregon's spring football calendar is just one day away. The program will hold its annual spring game at Autzen Stadium at 1 PM. Entry is free and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support those in need.

The players have already been split into two teams — team green and team yellow. The school has already announced the rosters for both teams and the format is expected to resemble a true gameday experience.

With the spring scrimmage 24 hours away, the Duck Territory staff has put together it's preview extravaganza. This DT Roundtable will feature items that perk the interest of myself, Matt Prehm and Jared Mack.

Each of us will pick one storyline we're most intrigued by, an offensive player and a defensive player to watch and then make a prediction for how the offense and the defense will fare as well.
