81DuckAlum No. 1 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Most members know how valuable this site is, so forgive me for stating the obvious. On FishDuck I have been fortunate to learn so much about my Ducks; and had the good fortune to read outstanding articles, interesting topics, learn from the Repository, and to share in the intelligent and raucous camaraderie of diverse postings. All of which has not ONLY served to increase my understanding of Oregon football, but also (and even more important to me), it has enriched my life by providing me with access to an amazing community that shares my passion for our Ducks. Yet, unlike any other site, FishDuck is uniquely structured to be driven by a trust of cooperative respect, with common sense rules, and in return gives me information and enjoyment unmatched anywhere. Over the years I have tried to keep my nose clean and follow the rules. Unfortunately, though, and most egregiously, I have failed to maintain my cool at times, and made careless and hotheaded mistakes on some posts, which have caused unnecessary time and trouble to all those who work tirelessly maintaining this site. That I was responsible for doing so is shameful. As Joni Mitchell sang, “Don’t it always go to show “That you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” I can personally attest to how it feels to be cast out. It sucks Big Time. As humans, with flaws, from time to time we show or exercise poor judgement. It just happens..... But most of all, IMHO, this forum is a family, bound by a commonality in the love of the Oregon Ducks. Each of us bring something special to the forum. Free to express our feelings, opinions and passions. Free to agree or politely disagree with what is presented. With respect toward each other the foundation or core of the OBDF.
