  1. I think the champion would typically be the team playing the best in December, with a little luck, and a little depth. Wouldn't it be fun to see a team like Utah inexplicably knock off a team like Georgia from time to time and make little Cinderella run?
  2. Let's get there already. All the crap there used to be about how there are only really 4 teams capable of winning it all each year, and yet now that the playoff size has grown, so has the field of contenders. Look at Texas Tech. Would they be investing like this with a 4 team playoff? Heck no. Poor risk-reward. But if that money can get them in the playoffs every other year it pays off. If you expand the playoff field you'll expand the number of contenders, and levels the competition at the top. A field of 24 covers every ranked team minus one, which has been the threshold of relevance for a very long time. If you are relevant enough to be ranked, then you are relevant enough to play in the playoffs.
  3. What a screw up by the GT head coach. Wasted a time out challenging a spot that was off by inches, leave his offense 13 seconds left instead of almost a minute, but his players still fighting giving them a chance with a hail Mary. 16-6 final Georgia wins. Georgia offense couldn't move the ball. I think their OL is a weakness this year, and QB Stockton is mid.
  4. Jedd Fisch was literally quoted as saying "Winning this game will be good for me." What a lose-lose for Washington players and fans, but it's their own ADs fault hiring a temp worker for an HC. I wonder how hard some players are gonna really play for a guy who hopes they win so he can bail.
  5. Sagapotule is an instant Heisman contender to whichever top tier program he goes to, and that top tier program is instantly a national contender. He came to Oregon before which should make us the leading contender for his services when he bails from Cal. But Moore would have to leave and Will Stein will have to stay, and who knows how good Akili Smith JR might be and they are the same class. So a lot of reasons why it wouldn't be us.
  6. Yeah, people are crabs, they always want to pull you down by point out anything you do bad. They'll never admit we are any good, we'll be the zeros untill we win the Natty, then they'll still hate us, but it would shut them up a little. We just need to be happy after each win, talk our trash after each win.
  7. Demond likes to see his receivers very open. He certainly won't throw many 50/50 balls, if any. And he likes an easy exit from the pocket. It's a tough matchup for him against our D. The one thing I'll say is if we put a spy on Demond it can't be Bryce or 54, that's too much of a speed mismatch. It has to be Jackson or Thienman.
  8. We are a poor matchup for UW. Not to say they could never lead or never stress us, but our scheme severely limits their strengths, and then they are left being an above average team playing against tier 1 talent. Now if they come at us with a completely different approach than they've used all season they could give us real trouble for the first half, but it's unlikely.
  9. UW is being given too much credit for playing well at home and for "blowing out" UCLA. The UCLA message boards are pretty unanimous that UCLA played a really poor game regardless of opponent. If you can still get 6.5 it's the deal of the weekend if not the season. I've said before that we can easily play the style of the teams that gave UW the most trouble, and do it way better than those teams. And we have the longest road winning streak in the country by a mile, playing better on the road than we have at home this season. -6.5 is a gift.
  10. I believe this is the first time we've played UW over the Thanksgiving weekend, but I'm thankful it's here and we're ready to go. This is the championship game for UW and their at home where they've played way better than when on the road which is reflected in the spread being lower than it was for USC. Vegas is forgetting about our road record. We've arguable played better on the road than at home this year. And we can play the kind of ball UW has struggled with. DUBS DOWN!
  11. I like the part where he said "it's not our fault teams become unranked after we beat them...ok maybe it is our fault, but..." All the press burst out laughing.
  12. Such a strange game. This reffing crew is such an outlier to the rest of the B1G crews that let them play. Next season I would like Nike to test out their new cleats designs on the Autzen turf before the season. Since when does a kicker slip on a dry field kickoff? I hope Lanning makes it clear we won't be wearing that cleat design for anymore games, especially not our home playoff game. Happy we covered the spread despite the penalties, injuries and slipping.
  13. Pickard is in. He has played better this year when in, but still..
