  1. A key case of that, Shelstad free throws cut the lead to 63-60. Minnesota misses, but gets an offensive rebound, puts it in, 65-60. 10 OR's for Minnesota, 4 for Oregon. Bittle had 0 offensive rebounds; to match his points, he also missed the first shot of a 1 & 1 twice.
  2. Absolutely right. Considering Minnesota competed for 20 minutes and Oregon for 8, this is a fortunate halftime score. As the broadcasters mentioned, for the opening 12 minutes, Minnesota was moving, Oregon was stiff. Finally, Angel defrosted. Scouting did indicate that MN wasn't very good from deep, and cooled off as the game went along. As it always goes, the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half are crucial.
  3. Let the good news keep pouring in!

  5. The season, Oregon was clearly the best,12-0 including a win over osu2, and Boise State, 13-0 with the redundant Conference Championship win. Congratulations to thee Ohio State for their flawed format aided National Championship.
  6. A good question, other WTE Polls have MIA at 10, 12, 23.
  7. Every game is a big game in the B1G. Right now the only team that seems to be a lock for a top 4 finish is Michigan State, 7-0 in conference so far. The Ducks have been great, perfect actually, in games away from MKA. Did Bamba have a breakthrough against Washington? Angel? Bittle and Shelstad didn't post their usual numbers. Minnesota is in 17th place, above Washington. This could be a game for Oregon. as Spartan2785 pointed out, to be efficient the way NET likes against Minnesota.
  8. Spot on. Hallelujah!
  9. Five days after holding Iowa under 50 points in a dramatic come-from-behind victory Sunday, the Oregon women's basketball team followed a similar script Friday to beat Indiana, 54-47. The Ducks held both teams below 38 percent shooting to give themselves a chance to come from behind, doing so Friday with a decisive 10-0 run with less than four minutes left in the game. "This is incredible," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "Two great offensive teams, and to hold both of them under 50 is really getting it done. It's been our strength. It carried us, and our defense kept us in the game." "I believe we wanted the ball more," Etute said. "That's what it comes down to at the end, who wants it more. … In the end, that was just us."

  11. What could come from a B1G-SEC Conference are Divisions and balanced schedules, like the NFL and a Playoff format that would make sense, and yes, it's good to be a Have.
  12. All the $$$ and Jeremiah gets to pick the uniforms! Leavitt, No.1 QB? LB Atkinson is from Georgia, so that would be crazy good! No.2 RB!
  13. They actually don't have a high NET score, and that's very confusing. They did have a high NET, then Illinois happened, and dropped them from 9 to in the 20's. Even with at least tied for the most Q1 wins, they stay in the 20's. Meanwhile Illinois and some other teams, without as good a record, and fewer Q1 wins are higher in NET. After the loss to Maryland, at home, Illinois, 1-3 in its last 4 games, dropped in NET from 8 to 9. Maryland, who Oregon beat is 2-4 in Q1, is now 20 in NET, Oregon is 22.
  14. No, but moving forward, the top 10 of each is as close as ever. It doesn't seem like the SEC is as crazy about basketball, but they are dominating there, though Oregon did beat Alabama. In ESPN's latest Bracketology. SEC has 13 teams, B1G has 10.
  15. And the team, they were the ones that felt humiliated by losing at Oregon.
  16. Surprising, since a lot of "Too early" polls have Penn State on top. Indiana? We'll see about the "emerging superpower", ASU without Skattebo? But Oregon? They'll just keep on keeping on.
  17. The expanded CFP does keep more fans interested longer. it was, and still will be next season, the fault of the format. The format dismissed the value of the regular season and highlighted that money is the only reason for a conference championship game, especially if one of the teams is 12-0. A proper format, with 12 teams is fine, 14 with a proper format would work, but I don't know if adding a Alabama and Ole Miss would help the product. Probably attract more NASCAR fans.
  18. Mike West got me thinking about this, as Chip Kelly's "12 Men" comment was part of what got Ohio State over the "humiliation" of losing, to Oregon! Apparently, it was too inconceivable, the Buckeyes losing to the Ducks??? It's humiliating to lose to Oregon, by 1 point, at Autzen? Even though for the last 3 decades Oregon had built itself into, if not a blueblood, no Natty, a team who deserved respect. But not it seems from Thee Ohio State. It was bad enough that Oregon was in the B1G at all. Now they actually had a two game winning streak! It wasn't being perceived as luck. Lanning's cunning end of the game strategy was being lauded. Oregon doesn't need their respect
  19. "Oregon has 150 uniform combinations," Bush laughed. "USC has like two uniforms." 20. B1G basketball doesn't make sense. After blitzing the Ducks at MKA, the Illinini looked like they were headed for a top line in "March Madness". Last night, at home, Mayland led Illinois, 38-35, went on to win, 91-70. Illinois and Maryland are now tied, 5-4 in conference, Maryland is 15-5 overall, Illinois, 13-6.
  21. That might have been the case, that Chip was recalling the "12 men". It is interesting if the 1 point loss at Autzen was "humiliating". 34-0 is humiliating.
  22. The difference I see in the two is that Lanning's comment was used to motivate his team, before the game. Chip's was made after the fact, at best, as a tongue in cheek excuse for losing.
  23. It's usually unnecessary to quote the entire post, but I agreed with the entire post. A critique of Willliams that I heard is that he excelled at USC by free lancing, making plays when things broke down, as we saw that doesn't work in the NFL. Murray is another who can't regularly drive the team down the field from the pocket. Ward's leadership was in making hero plays all season, not leading the team, again his talent will get him picked, and he'll go to one of the worst teams, we'll see how that works out. Meanwhile, Nix was very fortunate to land in the perfect situation, that should only get better.
  24. Sanders has put Colorado back on the football map, the team has improved its win loss record both years he's been head coach. Dallas picked somebody else for its job, Shedeur and Travis Hunter are gone. Is Colorado going to keep its upward trajectory, or backslide? Unlike the last two seasons when Colorado had high-profile opponents such as Oregon, USC and Nebraska (twice), the Buffs’ non-conference slate is Georgia Tech, Delaware and Wyoming before the Big 12 league schedule. The Fox Big Noon Kickoff crew will likely not be making regular trips out to Boulder anymore. This season will test how much spotlight Coach Prime still commands.
