Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Oregon got hosed in the CFP. But Louisville got it even worse in the NCAA Tournament. Louisville finished No. 10 in the final AP Poll, and got an 8 seed, against 9, unranked, Creighton. The winner gets overall No.1, Auburn.

Lupoi on Losing the Rose Bowl: A Miscalculation in Preparation?
No doubt about this one. The Wisconsin win was good for meeting the challenge, handling adversity. But if Penn State and Oregon had switched places via the B1G Championship in the CFP? Absolutely yes!

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
The tallest player to ever play at Oregon, for a short time, is Bol Bol, all 7'3 of him. Duke & Flagg are great, but my pick is Florida. The back court can shoot, all have handles, and are 6'4, 6'4, 6'5, 6'4, 6'2, 6'3, 6'4. Greedy, much!

Another huge "If only" for OBD. If only Boucher hadn't blown out his knee in the Pac-12 Tourney...

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Nice pick, Connor, you'd be welcome at FishDuck! Oregon goes 2-0 vs Duke in the Sweet 16, but Alabama get revenge for the beating early in the season. It could happen.

B1G, SEC: Does Champions Week & 14-Team Playoff Field Work?
Yep, $$$vs. common sense, fairness. The idea of a CCG is ridiculous, nothing but a money grab. One team almost always wins the conference championship by their play during the season, giving a team that didn't play as well a 1 game chance to "win" the title is ridiculous. If two teams end up with the same record, that's what tie breakers are for. This also makes a lot of sense, but there's that $$$ again.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
I don't care if it's a "shocking upset". Not that Boucher was a candidate for POY, but when he went down with a torn ACL before Pac-12 Championship game against Arizona, the teams that Oregon played, and beat, up to the Final 4 against UNC, took the games very seriously.

Lupoi on Losing the Rose Bowl: A Miscalculation in Preparation?
There's a great Country band, named "Asleep at the Wheel" and that seems to apply to coaching for Oregon and the Rose Bowl, whether it was getting hosed by the format, osu2 getting a boost by a romp over Tennessee, OBD being lethargic, complacent after the win in October, any adjective, accusation, excuse you can come up with would apply. The good news is it was 1 L after 13 W's, and OBD gets an opportunity to try it again next season.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Looks like deja vu all over again, with Oregon's basketball roster being too much for Liberty, just as the football team was. Even-up, the 3 pt shooting and defense by Liberty would be scary. But if the Ducks can summon Coach Dale a bit, they don't have to pass 4 times before a shot, but Bittle has to get a touch in every half court possession, Liberty won't have a chance.

2025 Ducks: Are Your Defensive Expectations Too High?
I'm sure my expectations are too high, but it's March. I'm not expecting a Georgia defense from a few years back, when half of it went in the 1st round of the NFL Draft, but something like that? I want an edge rusher that keeps opposing OC's up at night, as great as Moore to Moore can be, I'm really excited about the new safeties! Most of all, I want a defense where 3 & outs are not surprising.

The Ducks are 8-0 in their opening game with Altman, 50% they win the first 2 games. CBS guys like the Ducks to get to the Sweet 16.

ACC Settlement. Will it Hurry or Delay a College Football Super Conference?
Every time I see this, or the special consideration in the CFP, or reminded they have their own network agreement, the parallel between Nore Dame and Jerry's Cowboys is even more clear. A lot of bark and little bite.

It Was a Loooooong Trip for The Ducks to Get to the NCAA Tournament
That's a lot of miles but not shocking. Based on geography, when Oregon is where it is, and the other teams are where they are, it is what it is. It's a lot. But the Ducks aren't travelling in a bus, and I'm thinking the players have laptops.

Assessing Oregon’s 2025 Football Schedule
I agree, it's unlikely that Rutgers, or Purdue, or Northwestern beat Oregon anytime soon, we'll see how "shocking" Vandy, and Okie's wins over Alabama were next season.

Spartans Hold Off the Ducks 74-64
If anyone can really answer this, I'd be amazed. It really is logic defying that this team has an above .500 record, let alone deserving of a 5 seed. They don't really run a discernible offense that I can see. Every possession is freelance, lately it hasn't ended with an early 3, so that's progress. Bamba is the only guard that can really get to the basket, and that's usually just him barreling to the rim. This lack of actual plays I think is a large part of the rebounding trouble, no player really has a specific place to be. The undersize of the back court is problematic on offense and defense. The guards can't really do much to get a shot, other than a defended mid range, so a 3 it is. On defense, the guards can go where they want, forcing the bigs to help, which is why the opponent scores so much in the paint. The better the back court can do, the better chance for a win, Sweet 16 or loss in the first round, which Altman's teams haven't done yet.

Hey Finebaum, You're Forgetting Somebody Aren't you?
Who do we really expect to make Noise in the SEC this season? Texas, with cupcake schedule? Kiffin? Will Alabama get revenge on Okie and Vandy? SC" Of course LSU with Kelly is a lock for the CFP. Looks like Georgia...unless I missed somebody.
