  1. Good, you have that covered. I truly want what's best for me, and that's him staying. That would also be good for him, likely his NFL projection would improve, he could get bigger, really hone his skills. So, don't ponder too long, just stay.
  2. Absolutely agree. I don't know how '07 would fare against the other great Ducks teams. But in '07, Dixon had the Heisman & the team had the Natty wrapped up. 2010? 2012? Both so close, that Stanford L. the pain still reverberates like no other.
  3. Which team was the best? 2014, destroyed FSU, then ran into Ohio State, who we all wanted to play instead of Alabama. How about 2012? The Stanford game, the block that wasn't by DAT, the TD that wasn't for Ertz, 2010? Nick Fairley, "Dyer was down? 2024? 13-1? No.1 for longer than any other team during the season. Are they the No.1
  4. I agree. as I have always felt that one of the biggest reason's Helfrich didn't work was because he was hired because he was as close to CK as Oregon could get. Oregon was in a tough position, but the expiration of, the Blur was inevitable and Helf was the fall guy. Kelly finished 46-7 .867, 11-1 next season would match Kelly's 46-7, another 12-0, Lanning is No.1. If Lanning can dominate the B1G the way that Chip did the Pac-12. Wow!
  5. In the article it says he's likely to end up at Ohio State. don't go from red to red! Georgia Bulldogs LB ranked as top player in transfer portal SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Georgia Bulldogs sophomore pass rusher Damon Wilson has officially entered the transfer portal. Wilson is the top ranked...
  6. I didn't mean Tennessee, just forgot about one. Ohio State beat Indiana 38-15, and that was against the COY.
  7. I don't see Ohio State being challenged in their next two games. They did not take Oregon seriously at all, in Autzen and lost by a point. No possible reason can explain the loss to Michigan. The games against Indiana & Oregon were games that Ohio State played with purpose.
  8. Absolutely. If ESPN could have paid for the Final Four, it absolutely would have had more than 1 SEC team in it, and this was also a shameless attempt to gloss over the mess created by the format because the Final Four are bluebloods. Sad.
  9. I'm not excusing the Ducks for losing to Ohio State due to the format. I'm blaming the format for having Ohio State as an 8 seed. For making it be advantageous for Penn State to have lost the B1G10 CCG and have been seeded with an objectively better path to the championship as No.6 than No.1 Oregon had. The problem with the format is not that Oregon got hosed it is that, and it was plain to see from the start, that No.1 had no advantages at all, which makes a complete mockery of the seeding process.
  10. Kirby=Mario? Each is 5 letters, in Scrabble Kirby is 12, Mario is 9.
  11. A sports calculator says a 10.5 100m translates to a 4.2 40. So...
  12. Yeah, it all worked out just right. Kirk Herbstreit: ESPN 'could not have paid for a better final four' in terms of ratings - On3 WWW.ON3.COM ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit said that despite the belief that ESPN wants only SEC teams to succeed, the current College Football Playoff...
  13. It makes me feel better every time I see an article about this. Joel Klatt believes Oregon 'got absolutely hosed' with College Football Playoff format - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Joel Klatt didn't mince words regarding the hand Oregon was dealt by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.
  14. Right off this story is a bit wonky. The allegation is that Oregon offered a Boise State defensive player, but the player mentioned in this paragraph is an OT, from Happy Valley, Oregon. “I know for a fact that just last week, after the Fiesta Bowl, one of the key starters on defense got a call from the Oregon Ducks offering him $700,000. (Offensive tackle) Kage Casey, Casey’s probably going to be a first-round pick. He would’ve probably been a high pick this year, but I do think he needs another year to develop … I’m sure he could’ve got close to a million dollars in the portal.”
  15. I agree. Ohio State has multiple Natty's, Oregon has been close, so close, to multiple Natty's, can't put Oregon on the same level at this point. As for "- Out of 10" I'd say Ohio State-7.5.
  16. It should be a GLARING reminder to everyone watching Ohio State play to see that No.8 next to their name. The fact that No.1 got hosed, No.6 got a yellow brick road to the Quarterfinals are right there too. I read earlier that ESPN is pushing back a bit with, "Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame, Penn State, Bluebloods all. How can anyone say the format didn't work?"
  17. The NCAA of course is totally responsible for this mess. While they were busy sending out the hounds for recruiting violations and a kid working at a car lot, violations like the UNC scandal of players getting grades for classes they didn't even attend was not in their purview. But the "Student Athlete" was front & center. This antiquated view that let coaches & the schools make millions, coaches got raises, left to coach somewhere else, but the Student-Athlete got a scholarship. This could have been addressed 50 years ago. If it had, things would be a lot better now.
  18. We all forgot that. Even in "The Forum with Decorum" we became fanatics. Undefeated, B1G Champs, No.1, it wasn't hard to let reality fly away. Only to have it smack us in the face on Jan.1. But the reality also is Oregon is a championship contender. The reality is they are the defending B1G champs and will get that Natty!
  19. Winning the conference championship is nice and cute, but it really does not mean anything. What you want to do now is lose to the conference champion, and not even play in the conference championship game. I believe this Buckeyes team would beat the Ducks 9 out of 10 times. The game in Eugene in October was Oregon’s one. Fool’s Gold: That October victory over Ohio State gave the Ducks the false belief that they were better than they were. The team that barely beat Boise State and played horrible defense against Penn State was the real Oregon team. All the other games were against inferior opposition who the Ducks could simply out-physical and out-talent. Oregon is still Tee Higgins.
  20. After his first 3 seasons as head coach at Oregon, Chip Kelly was 34-6, .850, after his 3rd season at Oregon, Lanning is 35-6, .854 Chip revolutionized the way football is played. He is the winningest coach in Oregon football history. But there was a lot of being a coach that Chip didn't like, mainly he hated recruiting. He loved coaching, but after a while, he wanted to coach in the NFL. That didn't work out as well as he had hoped, but now he seems to have found a great place at Ohio State. Lanning isn't revolutionizing football. But the sport is going through major transformations, and no other coach is handling them better than Lanning. Not only is he adapting to the new environment, he's got the basics down too. Recruiting? No.1 class. Portal? That's right up his alley too. It also has to be noted that none of this has gone unnoticed. Other college schools want him, so does the NFL. But so far, as he puts it, "I'm at Oregon, until they don't want me." Chip came at the perfect time for Oregon and probably left at the perfect time too. It took a while, some ups and bigger downs, but Oregon got the coach who will be perfect for this time at Oregon in Dan Lanning.
  21. The Ducks start, what will always be in B1G basketball, a crucial road trip, this one against Ohio State and Penn State. Everything Dana Altman said ahead of Oregon basketball's road trip to Ohio State and Penn State
