  1. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon pitching gave up just one run and three hits over two games Saturday.
  2. Brutal start to the 2nd half, 18-1 Duke run, from up 28-23, to down, 41-29. But Oregon made it a game, even after losing Peyton Scott, Deja Kelly was the only scoring threat for the Lady Ducks. Kyei played hard, but doesn't have the all around talent, experience, to be a real threat. Graves was kidding when he answered, "What makes you a great coach?" and he pointed to the court, where Sabrina and Ruthy and Satou...and the others from that great run were playing. He was kidding, but maybe there's some truth to it.
  3. I feel like Altman is like Lanning and will coach at Oregon as long as he wants to This year tested the, "Altman's teams win March", which turned out to be absolutely true, as no team has more W's in March than Oregon since Altman took over. You don't have to retire to get in the Hall of Fame as a basketball coach, and it will be great when we stop hearing, "Altman should be in the HOF" because he is.
  4. Lots of memories watching the triple A affiliate, of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Eugene Emeralds. My favorite player played second base, Denny Doyle, at SS, was Larry Bowa, Over the seasons, a lot of great players wee Emeralds, including hall of fame 3rd baseman, Mike Schmidt. How about Greg Luzinski, Oscar Gamble, Joe Liss. The Em's first manager I was aware of was Reuben Amaro. A bunch of players from other teams went on to be stars, Spokane, than Albuquerque, was the farm team for the Dodgers. Ron Cey, Davey Lobes, Steve Garvey. Jim Ray Hart played the Giants' farm team and once hit a foul ball so high, it might still be up there. Of course, the treat about the Ems was that on road games, play by play announcer Hal Wehmeier, didn't go on the road, he recreated the games in a studio.
  5. So far, Duck turnovers are keeping Duke in the game, led by former Tarheel, Deja Kelly & Duke fan growing up, Peyton Scott, playing in front of her usual Duke fan grampa, now wearing Oregon green, the Ducks have led for the whole game. 28-23 at halftime. The Ducks are shooting 50% from the floor, Duke is at 36%. 8 TO's for the Ducks, 5 for Duke,
  6. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM (10) Ducks take on host (2) Duke Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (9 a.m. PT, ESPN).

  8. SEC gets one over the B1G, Tennessee 67-58, Tennessee Coach was not pleased that UCLA didn't concede in the last 2 minutes. so. the B1G is now 10-2. No.4 Maryland, No.5 Oregon and No.2 Michigan State try to join Purdue in the Sweet 16 tomorrow.
  9. No, we're good. Winning is always better, more to learn from a loss than a win. Nobody should bet on a team going undefeated, that really makes winning the tournament going on now the hardest won Natty there is, the winner is the team that goes 6-0.
  10. Well, B1G drops one, now 10-1. Wisconsin was down all game against BYU, but had a comeback going, down by 2 with 13.5 left, but BYU played great D and Tonje could only hope for a foul to be called on a tough last shot. It wasn't, BYU wins 91-89. Meanwhile UCLA and Tenneessee are in a tight one...until the last 2:15 of the 1st half, Tennessee goes on an 8-0 run. leads, 32-25.
  11. B1G No.3 Wisconsin down 47-36 to No.6 BYU at halftime. B1G No.7 UCLA vs SEC No.2 Tennessee at around 6:40 PST on TRU TV
  12. B1G No.4 Purdue made it 9-0 for the conference beating No. 11 McNeese, and Okay!!! B1G moves to 10-0, with Michigan's 91-79 win over Texas A & M. Tre Donaldson, who Charles Barkley says is his favorite player, despite transferring to Michigan from Auburn, comes up big again, as Michigan turned the game around in the last 8 minutes. If overall No.1 Auburn gets past No.8 Creighton, it will be B1G No.5 Michigan against SEC No.1 Auburn in the Sweet 16.
  13. Not looking good for B1G Michigan against SEC Texas A & M, 15: 49 left at in the 2nd half, A & M 51- Michigan 41
  14. SEC gets 1, No. 10 Arkansas takes down No.2 St. John's, 75-66. Coming up, B1G No.5 Michigan vs SEC No.4 Texas A & M on CBS.
  15. I'm not a fan of Pitino, but the more L's for the SEC the better, Go SJU!

  17. Their game against Akron, 93-65, looked a lot like this one.
  18. 44-20 Ducks at halftime. Not to nitpick, but this Ducks team is the worst I've ever seen at defending in the paint. Ducks are shooting 55%, started off 18-2, so that's great. I agree with Altman, should get the ball inside to Bittle more.
  19. in 5-12 games so far, 12's are up 2-1, McNeese over Clemson, Colorado State over Memphis. Michigan beat UCSD, Oregon will even it up with a win over Liberty.
  20. Oregon survives in 77-73 upset win over Vanderbilt in the opening round of March Madness - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The No. 10 seeded Oregon women’s basketball team improved to 12-5 in the March Madness Tournament under Kelly Graves as...
  21. Peyton Scott beats shot clock with a jumper - ESPN Video WWW.ESPN.COM Peyton Scott knocks down a big jumper in overtime as the shot clock expires.
  22. History doesn't say, "Play to Win, except this game." No way does a team play to lose a game. If a loss happens, some benefits can come from it, that's the silver lining aspect. Say the Patriots had lost a game during the season, that doesn't mean they'd end up winning the Super Bowl. The L's to Washington two years ago sure didn't help Oregon, if Washington had lost one of them, would they have then beat Michigan and won the Natty?
  23. Wow! Ducks played the best game of the year for the first 3 quarters, then almost blew it in the 4th, and it looked really bad going into OT. In OT, the Ducks kept going 50/50 on free throws, finished 15-27. The last miss worked, as with very little time left, the Ducks grabbed an offensive rebound and took some more time off the clock. It was Oregon's first OT this season,
  24. The announcer said the Lady Ducks went into halftime with a 9 point lead, but I have it as an 11 point margin, 36-25. It would have been more if Oregon hadn't started off shooting, 1-7. That didn't last though, Oregon finished the half shooting 57% on 3's, 55% overall.
  25. Smokey is right, and it would be poor form if OBD beat Liberty's football team and not their basketball team.
