  1. My two favorite teams fighting it out! Conservative boring (3 up the middle and punt) Penn State against flashy exciting Oregon Ducks! I will have to just watch if the Nittany Lions D can slow down the Ducks O. Two great players to watch for the Lions: #11 on defense Abdul Carter (like Micah Parsons) and #44 Tyler Warren (who runs, catches and passes). Also Beau Pribula, the backup QB who runs most every time. I think if Dylan gets hot, that the Ducks will pull away. I'm also surprised that the line is only 3.5 ... seems like it should be 9 or so, but then the Ducks have to do the long travel to Indy. We should remember though, this game may mean nothing when all is said and done, since both teams are in the CFP.
  2. I ignore this guy from ESPN. Even as partial as ESPN is to the SEC, due to their billion dollar agreement, Paul is even more extreme. He thinks the worst SEC team could beat anyone else. I think the BIG has better talent on the field and off, on the average. Georgia was lucky to beat UK or they would have 3 losses. I guess the only solution is for the BIG to start consistently beating the SEC, in order to quiet loudmouths like Paul down. As for the Hoosiers, it would be awesome if they could take down the Buckeyes and then the Ducks could play them in Indianapolis!
  3. Not really boring ... maybe people are quiet, not wanting to jinx this mojo too much. It's an awesome time to be a Ducks fan ... still winning while the others stub their toes, but I am uncomfortably waiting for the big sad loss ... oww! If it happens soon (UW or UW), then we avoid the extra game probably (BIG Championship) - this would not be bad. The loser gets the extra game ... and I'm not sure we can beat the Bucks twice (or maybe more) in one year. Out of 130 teams, this is impressive and I would love to see a 16-0 squad (wow, alot of games for a student) and that would make them the best team in the history of college football (arguably). Of course, we'll hear that Phil bought this team, but who cares? Go Ducks, and please blow out a team in the 1st half for once!!
  4. Ignoring their talent and $22M NIL expenditure this year, they should be ranked about 18 to me, so their ranking is all about potential, which has barely revealed itself. I'm especially shocked over the poor trench play. What has impressed me is that the fans are smiling and happy and having a blast (as it looked on TV), when other fan bases would be booing alot more, so that is a great thing. I think that the chemistry will build as the year goes on, and as long as the Ducks keep squeaking them out (a la Washington last year), then playoffs here we come!
  5. Hi David and others, New to FishDuck, but been a Ducks fan for over 40 years. As a Penn State graduate living in the Northwest, I would like to comment on this topic. Penn State only has one White-Out game a year and they spend forever trying to figure out which one will be it. It's super special. They look at the opponent and their record, what time the networks set the home games (gotta be at least half a night game), when in the season (mid to later), etc., so it's not just "lets have a bunch of White-Out games this year". This year it is the Washington Huskies, but I really think next year will be the Ducks. I hope a whole flock of Duck fans attend, but what a pain to get a ticket and find a place to spend the night, since State College PA is in the middle of nowhere. Also, teams that do color games do not typically have a color for every game like the Ducks are trying to do this year - wear yellow, wear black, were green ... it's every home game and that's too much! You get more participation if it is rare and special. And I know that it's not luck that MSU or Tennessee have a great Stripe-Out (or whatever color scheme), since they hand out cheap T-shirts for free at the gate. This is also common at NHL games. Anyhow, glad to be here and look forward to the Ducks winning the Natty this year!
