Coach Day also claimed that defensive PI should have been called on Oregon CBs the last few passes of the game, including on the Oregon DB on that play, during his post-game press conference. Unbelievable. I guess the players take their cues from the HC.
"Well, we did a great job again down the field and continued to fight. But on the one play, their DB's grabbing on Jeremiah, Jeremiah's fighting there and they called the flag there and that cost us...And then the next play on the wheel to Emeka (Egbuka), there was contact there. But again, we're not going to go back and look at those things. It doesn't matter at this point."
-- Coach Ryan Day, Post Oregon Game Press Conference
OREGON's dB barely touched the receiver, before the two handed push off... dream on, coach!

They seem to be obsessed with how classless Oregon was rushing the field.
What, stay in the stands to hug it out and sing, "Kumbaya"?
Imagine what they'll say if and when Oregon wins their first Nattie?

I have a not-so sneaky suspicion that the young man may be suffering leg cramps for a few days... Up-downs and stadium steps can have that effect on a feller.

I expected a fairly severe punishment from Coach Lanning.
His action was gross, but certainly not, 'punch Hout out', egregious. I'm glad the recipient had a shield on his face guard.
As far as the 'apology' goes, I would be shocked if this was not vetted by the Duck AD.
I also know that it could have been a personal statement that was run through an automated editing process to achieve the end result. That would not be out of the question, depending on the language skills possessed but a student athlete.
Without knowing the way Holden speaks and writes under normal circumstances, it's difficult, if not impossible, to judge.

B1G definitely got a bargain, eh?
Makes the shares USC and UCLA are receiving seem obscene, by comparison, doesn't it?
-
I can't imagine being barred from sharing in the amazing out flow of positive energy from that game, due to my own selfishness. If Holden cares about this team at all, it should have been a gut wrenching, 'Come to HeySuess' moment for the young man.
Self control can be a tough lesson for some folks to learn.

During the broadcast, there were multiple closeups of both Dan Lanning and Ryan Day... For most of the game, Lanning looked focused and eager, even excited for what would happen next. It was obvious the players were intent on what he was trying to communicate.
In contrast, Day appeared flushed, and nervous, even at times, extremely frustrated. Definitely not the demeanor of a man intent on inspiring his warriors to battle harder.
Which would you choose to run through a wall for?

I was amused by Day's comment about the offensive PI call: "There was contact ..."
In now way did the contact by the defensive player appear to be more than incidental, but the ensuing push off by the receiver was as blatant as it gets.
I'm not sure that ball would have been caught without the contact, but I'm thrilled that penalty wasn't against OBD!

Oregon Star Aims to Make History Against Ohio State
FANRECAP.COM
Believe it or not, Oregon football has never scored a single point against Ohio State in Autzen Stadium and the two teams have...Is it over the top to suggest Oregon has vastly improved, or has tOSU stagnated
? JK...

Where's that Wall???
I'm ready to hit something, Coach!

First thing I thought of when the refs chose not to review the INT, was the bogus review on Cliff Harris' INT in the Nattie... Still aggravated by that one.

"Basa's first quarter interception was beautiful and should have been reviewed."
Oregon could have called a time out and asked for review... Live and learn.
It might have made a difference in the game. The Duck D was playing with pride last night, and maybe a bit more fire after that play.
Looking back, Oregon had multiple opportunities to create even more of a spread in the final outcome.
Play clean, if there is a rematch, and it could be a blowout, especially if the Duck D is healthy.
Both teams have work to do!

"Since OBD's beat tOSU in 2021 have the Buckeyes had a signature win? 3 straight losses to Michigan! Yes they beat Penn State but so does Michigan. They get CFP invites sometimes because they are a blue blood. As a fan i too would feel entitled."
