How many cuts on that last first down run?
Every Oregon RB needs to develop that quick recognition.
And Ii'm in love with the Return of the SNEAK!

This is why I love CFB and WILL not like it as much in the coming years. 12 teams in the playoffs just screams 'Watered down'. A conference champion deserves a spot, but a 9-3 team that doesn't win their conference sneaks in over a, mid major, undefeated? Just Yuck!!
1 team per conference...Period! Your conference play is your playoff seeding. You get 8/9 conference games to prove whether you get to the next round. Why do you need one more potential conference game in the playoffs? You don't.
12 isn't needed. I could stomach 8. It forms out perfectly and gives the mid majors and Independents 3 slots to fill with Conference championships and top 12-15 ranked independents.
It would/could be billed as 'The Playoff of Champions'.
Prove It and leave It on the field.
But, nobody asked me.
I've questioned the need for anything beyond an 8 team playoff since the discussion began.
There is no need to go beyond a P5 auto qualifier from each conference, plus 3 at large qualifiers

Well that's crummy way to see Franklin leave the game!
Incredible concentration maintaining the ball security in the midst of that painful shock!
Too bad, because he may have scored...

Dadgum... Underwhelming 1st quarter, so far.
Hope Cota is ok!

Personally, I have thought all along that an 8 team playoff would be more appropriate at the college level.
Conference Title Games may need to become a part of history, to streamline the # of games invitees participate during the season.
The potential for serious injury as the season wears on becomes considerably more likely, the longer the process take.
I have no doubt mine is not a majority position in the debate.

Superior performance is when you are only 5 games into the season and your competition is hoping you will find a reason to leave soon.
Barring that, when your "competition bolts for more 'lugubrious climes" because it's soooo embarrassing to share a piece of the pie with lowly Oregon...

He was the one responsible, more than anyone else on the field, for perfectly executing the on side kick and recovery that ultimately set the tone for the rest of the game.
Well done, indeed!

The heck with it. Have Dilly as associate HC#coach in waiting... Lanning sends his kids off to college, and Dilly can step in when CDL graduates to the next level.
Natural progression has it's place.

It wasn't just taking a knee. Did you notice that NW, on the last real play of the game, slid instead of trying to make it into the endzone? Would he have done that in the first half??
When I saw that, I immediately thought that DL told everyone to hold on to the ball but not to score... probably during one of the last time outs that UCLA took.
NW broke away and slid before he got too close to the endzone. Yes, there were a couple of UCLA defenders in front of him, but is going into a slide the normal thing that a running back does as he approaches the endzone?
Whittington literally pulled up, and waited for the UCLA D to approach, prior to going into the slide.
It actually burned a little bit of extra time with that move.

I'm rooting for the SEC to implode and eat their own young similar to PAC tradition...

DTR: Definition of poor loser?
It appears that while DTR's grasp of the English language is somewhat superior to that of 'Squints', his grasp of cognitive reality may be equally flawed...

Clock Management, Guts, and sportsmanship... That last pass by Bo was obviously never intended to be completed... It was just a way to finish the game on an emphatic, defiant statement to the rest of the college football world.
Most pundits will never understand the reasoning behind it.
BTW, when was the last time anyone started methodically kneeling the ball with 2+ minutes to go in a game?
I thought it was a sign of class and maturity from OBD!

Guinness Draught, anyone?
I once had that at the ESPN ZONE at Downtown Disney in Anaheim (My late son and I used to do that any time we had the Grand-kids at Disneyland during football season.) while watching OBD were playing. pound an opponent into the dust.
(It was a limited edition, Honey Gold, or something like that. I'm not a beer lover, but that was good stuff!)
Oh, heck! CK was our coach, at the time!

I'm ready to see more qb stops, rather than the scampering signal callers achieving implausible escapes for completions or scrambling for first downs.
It's time to start being a more complete defense.

What was the reasoning for 5 secs getting added back on? It was 8 secs then the refs made it 13 secs. I didn't get the reason for that.
Had to have been to punish the Utes for trying to return the int.

I was hopeful the hiring of Dilly would reap dividends, but honestly had NO idea what was lurking in the depths of his creativeness.
Nice catch by BO!
