This is why I love CFB and WILL not like it as much in the coming years. 12 teams in the playoffs just screams 'Watered down'. A conference champion deserves a spot, but a 9-3 team that doesn't win their conference sneaks in over a, mid major, undefeated? Just Yuck!!

1 team per conference...Period! Your conference play is your playoff seeding. You get 8/9 conference games to prove whether you get to the next round. Why do you need one more potential conference game in the playoffs? You don't.

12 isn't needed. I could stomach 8. It forms out perfectly and gives the mid majors and Independents 3 slots to fill with Conference championships and top 12-15 ranked independents.

It would/could be billed as 'The Playoff of Champions'.

Prove It and leave It on the field.

    But, nobody asked me.

I've  questioned the need for anything beyond an 8 team playoff since the discussion began.

There is no need to go beyond a P5 auto qualifier from each conference,  plus 3 at large qualifiers

  2. Personally, I have thought all along that an 8 team playoff would be more appropriate at the college level.

Conference Title Games may need to become a part of history, to streamline the # of games invitees participate during the season.

The potential for serious injury as the season wears on becomes considerably more likely, the longer the process take.

I have no doubt mine is not a majority position in the debate.

It wasn't just taking a knee. Did you notice that NW, on the last real play of the game, slid instead of trying to make it into the endzone? Would he have done that in the first half??

When I saw that, I immediately thought that DL told everyone to hold on to the ball but not to score... probably during one of the last time outs that UCLA took.

NW broke away and slid before he got too close to the endzone. Yes, there were a couple of UCLA defenders in front of him, but is going into a slide the normal thing that a running back does as he approaches the endzone?

Whittington literally pulled up, and waited for the UCLA D to approach, prior to going into the slide.

It actually burned a little bit of extra time with that move.

  4. Clock Management, Guts, and sportsmanship... That last pass by Bo was obviously never intended to be completed... It was just a way to finish the game on an emphatic, defiant statement to the rest of the college football world.

Most pundits will never understand the reasoning behind it.

BTW, when was the last time anyone started methodically kneeling the ball with 2+ minutes to go in a game?

I thought it was a sign of class and maturity from OBD!

  5. Guinness Draught, anyone?

I once had that at the ESPN ZONE at Downtown Disney in Anaheim (My late son and I used to do that any time we had the Grand-kids at Disneyland during football season.) while watching OBD were playing.  pound an opponent into the dust.

(It was a limited edition, Honey Gold, or something like that. I'm not a beer lover, but that was good stuff!)

Oh, heck! CK was our coach, at the time!
