Is Cota ok?  I didn't see his name being mentioned.  After watching the Spring game, I felt most confident with Nix passing to Cota on those 3rd and 4th down situations.  I'm surprised he dropped that pass.  Took one helluva shot to the rib cage though.

Cota had one great reception, then left the field, at least temporarily, later in the game after being on the receiving end of a huge hit to the lower rib/gut area. Not sure if he returned.

  2. To be honest, it looked like DL had a bit of deer in the headlights look at times.

I wouldn't blame him if he did... That was a ridiculous stage for a first game as HC.

The fact that he appeared to remain calm in the face of that level of adversity is impressive.

    No screaming meltdowns.

Impressive lack of penalties for this first game.

I think it all comes down to what the B1G wants out of their additions.

If they want a school with athletics programs that can compete, then Oregon is the pick. Oregon invests in sports at a high level and when it comes to the two big revenue generators, football and men's basketball, Oregon is able to compete. Oregon proved they can compete by taking out Ohio State in their own house.

If they want a program that is there to get their butt licked in a regular basis take Washington.

  4. Dallas Cowboy Robert Lee Hayes was the only athlete ever to win an Olympic Gold medal and a Super Bowl ring. In 1964, Bob Hayes won his medals in the 100m, as well as the 4x100m relay (Both world record times) before becoming a Cowboy.

The significant difference is that Hayes retired from track, and those were his last races.

Allen intends to do both, moving forward.

Maintaining both disciplines will be a tough row to hoe for Mr. Allen.
